You should look into a system called a sea keeper. It's a gryo made to keep a boat stable in heavy waves. There is also inertial navigation gryos that will that will physically fight gravty like used in missles. Your hover board uses a sensor board that senses but is not precise and relies on what ever counter balance you add. There is also ring laser gryos but they dont have the inertia of a sea keeper. Its similar to what aircraft use to navigate.the physical heavy spinnig gryro will go a long way in this application.

Try putting the weight as high up as possible, since the bike is an inverted pendulum, that will make it swing slower. I also recently saw a video by Hyperspace Pirate where he uses a free gyro to slow down the swing of a bike.

I'm new here but holy this channel is criminally underrated! You're like the New Zealand Colin Furze ( hope you don't mind the comparison, even the early videos start with BMX lmao ) Really cool seeing this thing mostly standing, but from this layman's perspective, I think you might have even better success if you shift the counterweight above center of mass and use a custom controller that can be properly tuned. From my experience, PIDs aren't terribly hard to use even if you don't fully understand them haha Looking forward to the next video, good luck!

Consider tying the tilt lever (foot pin) to the steering. I think it may be time to stop messing with the toy gyroscopes and get the real thing that is capable of doing what you need. It would likely be more simplictic, reliable and give the priject less potential failure points. You need to lose the training wheels. Nice progress though!!👍

just a thought, what if you had 2 pedals one for each foot that controld the balance arms or moved a weight around to change the balance, like how the pedals in a helli controll the tail rotor and ditch the gyro then you could change the balance in preperation for the turn instead of the gyro reacting to the turn. if you could get the weight shifting to work you wouldnt need the the balance arms witch would be sick!
