Let me tell a little story about an alcoholic man, how he became an addict at birth because genetics had a hand. He lived his life stealing from his family. He had a son and a wife, he left them to get high. Incarcerated he promised them a new life. 35 years of lies and broken promises, 25 spent behind bars, Identity theft, robbery, intent to deliver, theft from his own family, his parents died, his dad died in 92, his mom died of cancer while he was in prison. That's my father, please do not let addiction run your life, fight it until you die. I've had my problems as well but I don't steal and I don't abuse drugs. I can only imagine the damage he'd have done if he actually raised me, so no I don't hate him anymore. I forgave him and I made sure to tell him that last sentence. Imagine how hurtful that was to hear from your only kid, he was glad you were a pos and not in his life but he forgives you. I didn't say it to hurt him, I said because that's how I feel. Moral of the story, don't use addiction as an excuse to be completely absent and for your actions while on drugs. Be a man and own your mistakes.
