--------
Vlad and DL Hughley highlighted their shared belief in traditional gender roles and men being the financial providers in a relationship. The conversation referenced Tyler Perry, who was criticized for suggesting that a woman could cover the mortgage while the man pays the light bill. Vlad explained that he always assumed a financial position in his relationships, while Hughley criticized men who allowed women to take care of them financially. Hughley also discussed the negative impact on his relationship with his mother due to her mistreatment of his dying father, a sentiment echoed by Vlad. The interview showed the pair sharing traditional views of masculinity and the idea that men must provide and protect, as well as the negative social and personal repercussions if they fail in these roles.

Women have saturated the job market after they started working, unlike when Vlad was younger and I was younger. So now wages aren’t good and prices are high due to women in work place and fed. So now women make more and men don’t but they want a man who makes a lot but is like 1% of the men population.

Crazy just 30min ago I got into a huge argument with my mom. I called her to tell her some good news about a “milestone” in my life and she just casually said some foul shit about my wife. The same wife when my fam was struggling financially she took out every dollar she had from savings and gave it to us with no expectations to get it back. Yet my own blood didn’t help us out and at the time we were just dating. My moms never had an issue with gossiping and just saying foul shit about anyone including her own kids.

the sad part is it might happen to them as well cause they believe their manhood comes from taking care of women when it should be how much stress they can handle When a man thinks he's a man based on how women perceive him, he will always be different in different eras cause he just wants to appease a woman. Once he isn't needed or can't provide for her the same, she will not respect him anymore cause their foundation was based on him taking care of her!

@@Cookie_Cutter_Creep maybe she hurt him, and that was his only way to get payback If he really was foul he would have left, and took you with him. Or just left the family all together, but as children in this society we don't see our mothers as foul even though a lot of the things they do are foul. It's a gift and a curse. The gift is you connect with someone. The curse is because you connect with a foul person your life will be the same UNLESS you acknowledge who your parents truly are, and try to be different. At 27-28 I went through something like this. I was dating this young lady and while inwas was dating her injured myself in the military. Long story short she ended up leaving me for another guy because essentially i couldn't provide her with the money i could before, even though we didnt live together i had my own place she had her own place, i still gave and money and stuff when i could. When she left me for that guy it was like something in my mind shattered and just looked at relationship and dating completely, obviously my life turned back around and I'm doing well again, however her life has been spiraling ever since. She's obviously not with that guy now but ever few months she calling for help or to vent and i just dont give a damn. Not that i want anything bad to happen to her but i just couldn't give 2 bones about it. The most interesting part about it is any time she brings up anything with a relationship she still some how comes off like shes doing me a favor with that even after telling her I'm not interested, but ever since then i tell men at the end of the day if she has certain requirements you have yours and stand firm on them

There is a difference between that, and a man completely relying on a woman. Or putting the families financial burden on his womans back. Women who have been through this, understand what they are talking about. I have a close friend with a man like this. He THINKs he contributes equally, and they have a 50/50 relationship, but they don’t. He does the bare minimum and she resents him. He will only work 30hrs a week at his job, and He pays the rent only. He contributes no other money to the household. They have never had a family vacation and her birthday is ignored every year. She handles the kids birthdays financially. They have three kids in a two bedroom. They NEED a bigger place. One of their children has to sleep on the couch cause they don’t have a room. They can’t move, cause he won’t work more and refuses to pay more in rent. My friend pays all the other bills which actually are more than their rent. (Car notes included.) she was 9 months pregnant with two jobs. While he only worked 30 hrs. Had to call her friends to borrow money. Her co workers were baffled that she was pregnant and working so many hours. But she had to to make sure their cats didn’t get repoed. She couldn’t understand why HE wasn’t embarrassed his pregnant girl had to work so much. He never budged to do more! That is not equal contribution and most 50/50 relationships are like that. The man simply does less while the woman does more. She has to come home and still raise the children. He did not see his families finances and social standing as HIS responsibility. It was hers, and he is just there to help out where he can. She dresses constantly. It breaks her heart they are in that small space, but he refuses to work more do they can have a better place. On Facebook he presents himself like father of the years.

Young men, please do not take advice from rich men unless you yourself are rich. The rich tend to be out of touch of the everyday 9-5 working class people. This is the 21st century and if you and your significant other want to live a better lifestyle you SHOULD combine your resources and income. The thinking of these 2 men is outdated because women today are more employed than men and have the better jobs. If a man (or vice versa) makes 80K a year and his significant other makes 50K a year, their family will live a better lifestyle if they split the bills and combine the 140K household income.

I used to have alot of older lady friends who have all since passed away and I tell you, some of them behaved that way when their spouses died and they would tell us that we had no idea what that man had done to them for 30 and 40 years and now the chickens have come home to roost. It goes deep and sometimes we don't know all of the facts. We'd all like to believe that even if a person abused us we'd forgive them when they need us or with time but sometimes the resentment is just that deep. Ijs. We don't know everything our parents go through behind closed doors.

These mothers need to start telling their kids the truth about their fathers. A lot of them would be surprised. I know one woman who didn't find out that her father had an outside child until after his death. Only then did she understand her mother's anger while she was growing up. He was seemingly the perfect father, but a horrible husband.

I can relate, because my Mother treats my old FATHER like shit , It makes me not like her that much for real, because all he did was take care of her ever since they been together , and she never had any appreciation for him 😡

Sounds like y’all fathers payed for everything and still wasn’t appreciated. Yet y’all still want men to pay for everything even tho women want equal pay and rights and have been given a portion of that. That why a lot of women make more money then men

There’s many stories of successful men who before they had their success their women helped with bills and had their back. They were a team and the moment the man became successful he took care of his women because she earned that and showed she will go through anything with him

There are also stories of men who relied on their women to financially take care of them before their careers took off and then ditched their women after they struck gold.

Huh? 😒Care to Elaborate on this? If they are a family and living in the same household… both if their incomes are the families resources. Why does who spend what matter? Especially if the family cannot survive without HER income, and he’s does NOTHING to relieve her of that. That should be a man’s goal I think some men live in a dream world about money. NO woman wants to be a mother with small children to nurture, and STILL have to work 40hrs a week to make sure all the bills get paid. Especially when she has a man. When does she mother?

Those women probably went through a LOT that they don't know about. These women sound hurt and stressed out. I'm not saying anyone should be mistreated at the end of life, but I guarantee you that both Vlad's father and DL's father did some stuff to their mothers that they don't know about. Women in that generation took a lot and didn't always talk about it

It sounds as if DL''s mother may have only been with her husband, was for him to provide for her and children that were not his. It does seem as if she ever loved him, it's was all about needing someone to support her!!
