If Micheal had ever hit anyone it would have been known by the the bosses. If Sammy says that MANY other made members questioned Michael's qualifications then that's something that we have to consider. Michael has to be very careful what he says. He made no deals with the government or federal prosecutors. He never testified against anyone and left the mafia without hurting anyone. Sammy is an out and out street guy. He had to be this way to get any respect, it’s a tough life. To be as feared as he was in their life you had to do extreme acts of violence. But he was also a business man as well, this man owned all construction in Newyork and numerous other legit businesses plus illegal ones too. He was a huge earner and killer and that’s two traits you want in their life. Michael is intelligent and charismatic and the truth is he got made only because of his father. He didn’t earn respect on the street like sammy but he was a business guy and earned respect that way, he was a top earner so in other words he was untouchable. It’s two separate worlds but in the same mafia universe.

I honestly feel like Sammy is jealous of Michael. First of all, Michael, unlike Sammy, didn't join the witness protection program. Hence, some things, if he admits them, can still get him interrogated and punished. Secondly, the fact Sammy wears his murders as a badge of honour shows he's a pretty low individual. And finally... Anyone that cannot see that Sammy was justified to do what he did has never been betrayed on a deep level. John Gotti was single-handedly responsible for sending cosa Nostra into a downward spiral. Everything Sammy told was gospel. John was demanding people take the fall for a case that was ALL him. All of those tapes were hours upon hours of an egotistical, psychotic man who really should have never been the boss. If Frankie DeCicco never got clipped they would have probably got rid of John themselves eventually. Sammy the Bull was put in a position where he was staring down the barrel of a gun that he never saw coming. He wasn’t on one of those tapes at the BH and Fish club. It was an embarrassment. On top of it Sammy was super loyal, imagine listening to the jealousy and envy and backstabbing on those tapes. I would have said fuck John Gotti too.

The differences between these two are very interesting. Michael is the Boss who is the intellect. Very calculated, very careful with the words he uses. The one who got where he is by outsmarting you and is going to win by outsmarting you. The one who quietly handles his threats. Sammy on the other hand is the Boss who is a boss due to Fear and Intimidation. He fights his battles with those tools instantly commanding respect through fear on the streets. Althoughy He relies more on force he still has a mind. But it is limited and sometimes clouded by his temper and anger causing him to often make brash decisions.
