Some important information about the EDPT: This is a written test, you have to wake up hella early in the morning to go to MEPS and then wait a 2 hours for the test to actually start (starts at 8am, your recruiter should've already discussed this with you). The test had an answer sheet for 150 questions but there where only 128 questions total that are in the booklet. All four sections of the EDPT are mixed randomly together into one fat section and you have an hour and a half to get as many as you can, YOU MUST WORK EFFICIENTLY. 40 seconds per question is no joke, I guessed on the last 25 questions because I ran out of time. You have arthimetic reasoning questions that are very similar to the Asvab (some of them are a lot harder simply because you don't know little things, like how many feet are in a mile). Pro tip for the arithmetic questions, if you get stuck for a short while on any one question you should just cut your losses and move on, time is of the essence gentlemen. Number sequences where all pretty easy, what really helps is writing all the numbers in a sequence down on paper and then seeing how much it add/subtracts between each number. Try not to get held up on the shapes, they're pretty simple, here's what to know. There are two shapes that are transforming in a certain way, you are then given a new shape and must transform that one like the two before it. That's a dumbed down version however, these "shapes" are a bit more confusing, they're more like complex patterns. Patterns will be cut in half and then put together, patterns will contain multiple shapes (up to 3) and then they'll be broken apart in a certain way. Finally there's the analogies, they where pretty basic as well but I did find myself spending some extra time on them just to make sure my answer made sense. If I had to rate the difficulty for each section it would be: 1 - Algebra & Word Problems (Arithmetic Reasoning), 2 - Spacial Recognition (Shapes), 3 - Analogies, 4 - Number Sequences. I hope this helps you future testers out there, really wish I knew all of this information before hand.

@@tttmarcel2777 For sure bro, study hard in any way you can. This test is hard asf
@tttmarcel27774 жыл бұрын
@@lubedhomo My recruiter was a bit of a DICK with this test. I've showed him some proof of my problem solving with 3D artwork that I do in like maya, and also my asvab score. I also script in python to automate stuff.. This guy told me someone with a 98 ASVAB could not pass this test. I didn't study that much, the ASVAB was just basic arithmetic, it's really not that bad but I did NOT score a 98. Even If I pass the EDPT there is no guarantee I will get my job, that's the Air Force for yah. I qualified for all of the jobs though. I have taken IQ tests before so i'm sure It's not that bad, on reddit they say some of the cheesy iq tests online are harder, but I don't know how true that is. If I don't pass, then whatever. It's been pretty stressful, I also have to verify my score at meps because I took a PiCAT in his office and apparently people cheat on it. So I take the asvab twice.
@lubedhomo4 жыл бұрын
@@tttmarcel2777 I've heard a bit about the cheating on PiCAT's and how easy it is, didn't know they where doing verification tests for the verification test lmao. I'm guessing you're shooting for the computer systems programming job based on what you said (I was shooting for it too). Air Force is so annoying with a lot of stuff, Job drop has been delayed so much and it's getting on my nerves so bad, I really hope I get the career I'm looking for. Anyways, I got an 82 on the ASVAB & when I took the EDPT I got a 52 so I'd say it's a very difficult test but then again I was sleep deprived asf when I took it due to me being an idiot so results may vary. All I can say for you is good luck man.

I didn't think the DLAB was that difficult. It was all about connecting rules and meaning to random letter and word combinations. You really only needed to remember the rules.
@SourStrawberrys2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. Remembering the rules is only a fraction of it. It will help save you some time by familiarizing you with test but it won't guarantee success. Listening comprehension takes skill and practice. And even if you remember the rules, being able to catch it the first time you hear it is the challenging part. The DLAB is not impossible but I have to say, the section where all the rules are applied at once makes it feel like it is. What saved me was the picture portion, where it focused less on listening but more on figuring out what phrases mean based on the photos given.

I learned Russian while in college so those rules you were explaining honestly make sense to me lol. If anyone ends up getting Russian, expect to change stuff a lot depending on the gender of the main object you're talking about

From what I've seen on the practice tests I've taken you don't need to know anything more than how to make a word problem into a solvable problem, however you don't need to solve it just make it into an equation.

@TheCosmicSpider8 жыл бұрын
I took the DLAB and the EDPT because it is better to be as highly qualified as you can be. I may not want to be a linguist or 9s but Who knows how I will feel in the future. I have never studied mechanics and my college was geared toward Computer Science but a lot of the Electrical questions are in regards to electrical systems like different kinds of transformers, ohms, watts, volts, power... Ect.

The EDPT is set up like the ASVAB, just a harder version in my opinion. So it is a test you take in one sitting and has about 3 to 5 different sections. Sorry been over a year since I have taken it now. I didn't find anything online to help me practice for it.
