I’m in England UK …I bought a VIKING 2 and the VFO on eBay ….the VIKING 2 was obviously in USA …the seller agreed to send it to Uk …..it arrived not packed as well as the one in terrys video …..the seller had wrapped each valve in bubble wrap at my request and packed them inside the top side of the Viking …..anyway it survived the trip to Uk …..and after the usual re cap and rebuild of audio stage it’s now working well ….produces about 110w carrier on 80 and 40 and audio reports with a D104 are very good …..got the Viking paired with a AR88 ….better than any modern rig 😊….steve G4HTZ

Ollie wanted so much to think it was a new toy to play with and it was. Viking II with lot's of past cobbling. Repairing it to "as it should be" condition with a D- Lab PTT system can and should be done. Hope the owner agrees with that assessment.

That was close to a good packing job, but electronics is not horse shoes or hand grenades, so close doesn't cut it. I bought an amplifier a few months ago, an otherwise nice amp, that was packed in bubble wrap, peanuts, and a single cardboard box. At least the 4-250's were packed properly in a separate box, but the amp took some nasty hits on the corners and the chassis is sprung out of shape. The power transformer has to come out along with a center shield before I can straighten it out. Fortunately, the transformer, in the corner, took most of the energy and being the heaviest part, there was no damage to other components. It should be a nice amp, after the body work and reconstruction is done. People gotta learn how to pack things properly when they ship them. It's extra work for them but much less work for the folks who receive the equipment.
