Brilliant discussion, and wonderful to see you back. By the way, Erikson and I will continue to argue that point about Stonny until he admits I am right. 😂😂😂

Hmm, it comes around again in book eight he says, at what book did you become one of his advance readers? Book eight was it? Nah, must be a coincidence... 😂

Excellent interview! Every interview I see with SE is a treat, and this is one of the best, so, well done DLC crew. Erikson's quote at the end was perfect leading into House of Chains : "I wait with baited breath to witness" WITNESS!! So pumped you guys are soon starting HoC.

Kudos to Jeff for trying to keep these interviews fresh and not asking the same questions other interviews have already asked. Though I might add that you may keep some of the popular questions still, as many people might not have watched the other interviews. Its always a blast to hear from him, and his insights into his writing, and his frankness in discussing it is just wonderful. Can't wait for the next week's episode.

Erikson is very open during his interviews on his thought process when writing and a lot of the reasoning and background he gives always gives me greater appreciation for what I am reading knowing that there is importance in it. Excited for future interviews as there are a lot of future talking points to be had that I'd love to listen to

Just discovered you guys the other day and slowly working my way through your backlog. Both of you have excellent and hilarious insights into the Malazan world! Great timing for this interview, as I just finished Midnight Tides and am now stuffing my face for Thanksgiving. Can’t wait for your thoughts on House of Chains!

Just recently found your show and I'm having a blast with you guys. This is one of the best SE interviews I've seen. I've just finished book 7 myself, so I can envy the things you're about to experience for the first time!

Steven's great for doing these. You get to understand his work so much better with all the context and his process. His writing is so layered and meaningful that you need to pay attention to every single word, and it's always rewarding. Not that the reward is a prerequisite for a literary work to have an impact, but it's a must for the fantasy genre. Because of the whole suspension of disbelief thing. But then, his miniatures in all his novels are second to none, and it just works so well as a whole that it feels like he must be cheating or something. Unbelievable. Great master of his craft.

Absolutely loved this book! So many interpretations and references to the title, I wouldn’t be surprised if ‘Memories of Ice’ was inspired by an old visa bill 😂

SE dropping some pronunciations was great, wait until he mentions the Tiste Andii 😅. Although I just had a thought, perhaps it IS pronounced Andy-eye because it's plural and individually they are Tiste Andius.. 😂 Looking forward to watching the journey (and the chats) continue, cheers!

oh dear sweet baby cheeses i've read Malazan 3 times over and I've only just got Spindles name! Spindle! has a hair shirt! I mean did Spindle use a spindle to make his shirt! 🤯I hope I have Eriksons zen like approach to people and life when I get old(er), because right now I'm turning into Waldorf.
