The final wave of the booster course pass just released, with new tracks, new shortcuts, and new characters. Here's my first impressions and reaction to Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Pauline, and Peachette, and the courses Tour Rome Avanti, GCN DK Mountain, Wii Daisy Circuit, Piranha Plant Cove, Tour Madrid Drive, 3DS Rosalina's Ice World, SNES Bowser's Castle 3, Wii Rainbow Road.

In case you were curious Diddy Kong is Donkey Kong's nephew, im almost entirely sure they did that so DK is literally a Monkey's Uncle. Funky Kong also isn't related to DK at all he's just a good family friend

12:18 Pauline is around Rosalina's height if you can believe it (in Odyssey she towers over Mario). In Strikers she has more strength than both Bowser and Donkey Kong

Pauline and Rosalina are my top 2 favs (Rosa being my fav) So I'm glad I can play either one of them and not have to get use to new stats. Best feeling ever

One subtle thing I realised is that for the characters like yoshi and shy guy who have multiple colours, the small character selection screen icon will be the colour you last chose. Neat little detail I thought I’d share

16:08 People were making their guesses based on mainly 2 factors. 1: Back around the time of wave one (I think around then) there was a prefix leak, so people had a rough idea of which games all the courses would come from. The other factor is which courses made it into tour since most (if not all) of the courses are ported in from tour, so people could just make predictions on what was being added to that game.

@@hylianro Yoshi's Island is also in Tour. Some of the new nitro courses came out in Tour and the Booster Pass roughly simultaneously, and other courses from Tour feel like they were designed with the Booster Pass in mind (like Bowser's Castle 3) but there's no course in the Booster Pass that's not also in Tour. That's why people think the BCP was created as a good way to get more use out of the Tour courses instead of just leaving them on a mobile game that's at the end of its life.

As very likely the last update of Mario Kart 8 deluxe, I think this was a more than great send off! Fan favorites, a new track, and WII RAINBOW ROAD is more than a perfect set of content for me. I’ve also very much enjoyed watching your content for this last while I’ve been watching you, Shortcat! I didn't expect much from Peachette but she actually turned out to be my favourite character. Her voice just makes it sound like Peach is on drugs and i just find her voicelines so hilarious while playing. She is also really cute. Also, THEY NERFED BAGGING!!!

bought mk8DX just for the finished booster course pass, it's been a LONG time and i've mostly been playing F-Zero 99, so there was a lot of adjusting to be done. that said, i'm digging all of these courses! i think SNES Bowser Castle 3 is really gonna shine during races. lots of split second decisions to look out for (going for the thin ramparts to get extra items, tricking off the thwomps at the end), really dynamic course!

Daisy has gotten a rare bit of love this year. First Daisy Cruiser, then Daisy Circuit, and she has become a playable character in a mainline Mario game for the first time with Mario Wonder.

24:57 fr though, it’d be so cool to have a Shortcat character added to this game or the next mk game. After all, you’ve had a big role in the mk8dx experience for a lot of people. This update is the biggest one yet, adding a soundtrack menu was cool now that it’s easier to listen to music in-game without the engine noises while driving. MK8DX has come a long way and while this was the last wave, it will always remain an amazing game for a long time.

Yeah, this was intentional. In Mario kart Wii, Funky Kong flame runner, as Shortcat said moments after the timestamp, was an absolute *menace.* if you didn’t play funky Kong you were playing Daisy and if you weren’t playing daisy… well, you’re throwing.

It's funny I also really loved DK mountain in Wii and was secretly hoping for it to come to the DLC and it actually came and looks amazing!!! Don't know if there have been any balance changes but if so I would love to see a video on them, also featuring the most optimal combos for the new characters. For some info peachette is toadette in disguise. In New super marios bros for nintendo switch there is an powerup specifically made for toadette when you play her called the peach crown and it basically turns toadette into a peach lookalike hence the pigtails indicating it's toadette

You could do the double hoop jump shroomless on mario kart wii in Rainbow Road. To do it successfully you had to make sure you hit a trick off of the boost pad at the end of the wavy section. It's hard to go dead center shroomless in 8 deluxe but slightly to the left or right is still possible as long as you hold up on the stick when jumping.
