DLE-60 Twin Gasoline Engine

I have a DLE-60 in an old school kit built 12’ Telemaster and I’ve found it to be an excellent running engine. Smooth, easy to tune, very reliable, easy to start, good idle and transition.

What prop and RPM are you using/getting?

What size/type fuel line do you use for the DLE 60? What type of fuel consumption do see? Do you have any recommendations for a governor?

1. Do you snip or remove the throttle return spring so the servo isn't fighting the spring? 2. Do you use the idle speed screw or just rely on the servo to hold your idle - I have done both over the years with Quadras etc. I know servos are a lot better now than back then as well.

I don't cut the return spring and use the servo itself to set idle. If the linkage breaks I want the throttle to snap shut, not float around in higher rpm. I find I need to tweak the idle now and then, mainly in different seasons so it is just easier to do it from the radio.

Hi Tom, DLE 60 or EME 70, which is the best ? what are the pros and cons ?

Richard, There literally are no pro and cons between these engines. I fly both and both are reliable, seem to have the same amount of power and neither has needed much adjusting and no repair in the two years (I think) I have been flying them. That said, if the price difference is significant, that might be the "plus" you are looking for to make this decision.
