Once again hit the nail right on the head. He swiped his card and gave his ID and they said no way *this* black man has all this money. The pregnant black woman that signaled the police did exactly like she's been taught her whole life, create mental limitations to stop our progress. I truly feel sorry for the child she's about to bring into this world. A man almost lost his life because of inability to see greatness in her own black skin.

@@sheilae.9670 no worries. A lot of things that we need to know we must teach ourselves which is why we need to read more books that were written by people that look like us. It's unbelievable & ridiculous that a bank would not have a discreet system in place for when customers need to withdraw a large amount of THEIR OWN cash?! Q: What's the NORMAL procedure routinely followed for large cash withdrawals? WHY wasn't it applied in this case? A: Most probably Karenicity, racism, incompetence + horrible customer service. Solution = Practice excellent, 1st class customer services *with all black, minority & white customers, equally,* and follow your own company's procedures. Or face lawsuits.

I can't help but think, who robs a bank for $12k? And gives the teller their id? Most banks have protocols in place for larger than average transactions. This transaction should've been moved to a specific teller or office to commence. And to think, he's in Atlanta filming the sequel to one of the highest grossing movies ever made. It appears that the teller never looked up his account where she would've seen a very large balance. She saw a black face and a note to be discreet and boom, "I'm being robbed.“ And as if the cops being called on him, being handcuffed and paraded through the bank, interrogated, and being told to calm down wasn't enough humiliation; even after they knew who he was after running his I'd, he had to ask for them to remove the cuffs. The cops on scene never apologized to him but just tried to justify the ordeal. I must say that this situation would've gone differently for many, many people. The anger. The disrespect. The humiliation. It's infuriating. This arrest and detainment could've easily pushed someone to use profanity and resist arrest out of pure frustration and anger which we all know would've looked guilty or out of control to many but would've been a justified response. However, I'm glad he didn't resist or react out of control because that would've caused the typical response from law enforcement which in most cases ends with brutality or murder.

My sister told me of a statistic that until the age of seven little black boys are seen by white teachers (primarily female) as "cute and cuddly" and then from "8yrs on up" seen as "threatening" and I have witnessed this to be true. I watched the new remake of the movie "Cheaper By the Dozen" with Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff and one of the extremely good points that was made was how we as black adults and children are seen and viewed by the world. This is why black parents worry when their children go off to school in the morning and pray that they arrive back home safely.

The black on black crime stigma is a term created to DEHUMANIZE black people. It's a BRAINWASHING tactic which suggests that black people are inferior, threatening and more dangerous than everyone else. It is a label that's only used against black people. In REALITY, people of EVERY ETHNICITY kill their own. It's a PROXIMITY issue.

Handing a bank teller a note asking for money (even if it’s yours) could be seen as scary. I’m glad it didn’t end tragically though.

Yeah but it shouldn't be. I'm sure hearing impaired ppl may pass notes all the time, maybe even elderly customers 🤷🏾‍♀️

I agree with a lot you said with this situation. The teller said that she was scared and pregnant, and was the reason she called the police. So, if she was that scared why you doing teller worker. This is sad. Oh and he didn’t create Black Panther. I think he did the screenplay and directed it.

It is indeed tragic that that happened to him. Happens to people of color on the regular. But more important questions to address is why did this happen on January 7, 2022 but the news didn’t drop until March 7, 2022? And why is Ryan Coogler NOT pressing charges against B of A, an institution KNOWN for profiling blacks? The answers will raise more questions. Probably why they aren’t being asked.

Wow that's interesting because how do they hire the very culture that they are notorious for racially profiling?..to the fact that this very action occurred with one of us actually doing the profiling...

@@mocancer8485 Probably an attempt to clean up their reputation? And we KNOW all skinfolk ain’t kinfolk. But again, why are we JUST hearing about this? It happened 2 months ago. Usually news like this drops the same day. Not a peep for two months. why SIT on this story?

This sister should be held accountable..It goes to show she saw her own as a threat. I hope the child she is carrying is not a male. She almost got one of her own killed. We talk about Karen we have to start calling out these Kesha's. Watch the body cam footage,he actually gave her his bank card, pin #, and driver's license.

Remember certain people in power wants to stay in power... Most of them are sick in their concepts and ethnics toward black and brown people. In nut shell, we have to be very creative and have multiple strategies in building our concepts, our principles, our financial base, for our family and the next generation .. Look at as a game, however , we must continue to build and not allow our left hand know what is in our right hand... Master John Henrik Clarke was so wise and he left us with many books to read...
