Looks great. I'm curious how you get such clean "through the scope" footage. Do you have a fixture setup behind it? Both on tripods?
@DarkLordOfOptics4 жыл бұрын
In this case, it was a camera behind the scope on a separate tripod, but I am working on a fixture to do that better.

Thanks for the video. Could the slight tunneling below 6x be because it's truly a 7x (6-42x) or 8x (5.25-42x) magnification system rather than a 9x (5-45x) limited to the 5-42x range?
@DarkLordOfOptics4 жыл бұрын
That's a function of the camera positioning. There isn't really any tunneling in that scope.

Nice review - many thanks Sir ! would need your advice to make up my mind, do you think it worth the extra money Vs the S&B PMII 5x25
@DarkLordOfOptics4 жыл бұрын
That depends on what you want to do. If you like to use high magnification a lot, March is worth the money.

@@DarkLordOfOptics Thanks for your feedback, i will be doing some ELR but mainly a lot of hunting (harsh environment) . i will see both products in the coming months to have an idea on the glass. i know that this scope is quite new, but do you think it will match S&B PMII in terms of mechanical and ruggedness ?

Thanks for the video! There’s no much info about this scope. Could you pls compare this scope with NF Atacr 7-35x56?
@DarkLordOfOptics2 жыл бұрын
It is a better scope than the ATACR, but also a more expensive one.
@midav42752 жыл бұрын
@@DarkLordOfOptics we're talking about glasses mainly, right? Or March really better than NF in every aspect?
@DarkLordOfOptics2 жыл бұрын
@@midav4275 Mechanically, both are really excellent scopes that I would expect to track well and be durable. Turret feel is subjective, but March has new turrets in this scope that I think are better. In terms of image quality, March has an edge in every aspect of this other than depth of field and performance at the edges. Aside from that, March has better center field performance, better FOV and better low light performance. ATACR will be a little better at the edges, but it tunnels on low power.

Would you recommend a 8-80×56 on a 50 bmg bolt?

Yes, it is part of their FX product line.

I am looking to purchase a march scope not this particular model something like the 3-24x 42 or 52 . The only negative review I have read says march scopes get to dark at the high end of there given magnification range what is your experience with this.
@DarkLordOfOptics4 жыл бұрын
I own March 3-24x52 and like it quite a bit. There are not any darker than other scopes of the same exit pupil. Depth of field is a little shallow, but otherwise very nice scopes.

@@DarkLordOfOptics March 3-24x52 or razor 4.5-27x56? What scope will you suggest to go on scar 20s 6.5 creemoore which is close to $2000? TIA
@DarkLordOfOptics3 жыл бұрын
@@jagmeetsmann March 3-24x52 in an equivalent configuration is close to $3k and it weighs almost exactly half of the Razor Gen2. To me Razor Gen2, as much as I like that scope, is too heavy for this gun. I would be looking for something like the March (but you won't find it for $2k). For $1500, Nexus Element 5-20x50 is a good option.

I owned a March 8-80x and a March High Master 10-60x. It started getting VERY dark after 60 power to the point that any power over 60 was unusable except on the brightest parts of the day. The scopes are plenty bright at 60 power and I was able to see holes in paper at 500 yards in the evening light. Remember, the objective lens is 56mm. 56/80 is a tiny exit pupil!

Below 10X the outer 20% of the edges appear blurry--I'm guessing a result of the video or is it blurry to your eye?

Compared to Hensoldt 4-16x56? Comments?
@DarkLordOfOptics2 жыл бұрын
The two scopes could not be more different. March is a much better target scope, with better turrets, much higher magnification range, wider FOV and freakishly good center field resolution. Hensoldt is more forgiving to get behind with better depth of field and more compact size. You kinda have to decide what is more important to you.
@trygvegabrielsen81202 жыл бұрын
@@DarkLordOfOptics Hensoldt it is then;) I’ve had two March scopes, and they are awesome for some uses, and not so for other uses. Love the Hensoldt eyebox. Better turrets, well. I’ve only tried the locking kind, not the older style.
@DarkLordOfOptics2 жыл бұрын
@@trygvegabrielsen8120 The new March turrets they have on the 5-42x are absolutely superb. Better, in terms of feel, than any Hensoldt I have seen to date, old or new. The only turret better than the new March, to me, is Tangent Theta. The new March, ZCO and S&B's DTII+ are just barely behind TT.

@@DarkLordOfOptics I’ve had the March 2,5-25x42 and 1,5-15x42. The 1,5-15 with capped turrets but felt mechanicaly like few others. Wish I could try the 5-42x56 before buying..
