James (DLR) is an awesome guy and def an old school dnb / jungle head, met him in Pittsburg a few years ago while I was live streaming an event on FB (Him and Alix Perez), he walked off the stage after his set and up to me and we spent the next few hours just chatting away about the scene, gear, old school jungle and dnb, guy is a lovely human and a fucking top gent as well, big ups DLR, maximum respect.

You can get rid of *most* clicks with sidechaining subs and stuff that sits lower in the mix by increasing the look-ahead time to 10ms, also slight fiddles with the release/attack. Also ghost tracks for the signal for side-chaining are a must for me in music as quick as drum and bass. House is another story and usually side-chaining straight to the original kick works well with the 120ish bpm tempo. I'm click paranoid lol, first track I had released sounded awesome until it was released, then I noticed a whole bunch of clicks that got amplified post mastering and I've lost sleep ever since.

Probably what I dislike the most about these sort of masterclass production videos is the fact that when the producers go over a track that they've made or track that they're making and especially when they go on to the drum break is that they don't just single out one instrument or single shot to play to the audience. Like I really want to hear that I want to hear the full process of then making they're drum brakes to sense to the fullness of a loop or track they've made and for me I almost feel like if they did that the audience can get a better idea of what it takes to make the pedigree of a track that they create.

Well for THAT song you don't really need 1 hour to explain... it's rather dull and simple. The most interesting part of it is the drum loop which he sampled... Producers these days have it too easy, and the end result is often without much work put into it.
