Why are some people like this dark fantasy isn't always about sexual assault and forced pregnancy especially on a players character I've heard so many horror stories that it's dumb they basically go what's the darkest thing I know about and they default to those two for some reason.

They go the easy way, just blame their lack of creativity. Just think about it. Terrible things happening in intimate matters, how original, let's evoke our basic feelings of disgust. Hooray... Dark fantasy is wasted on them. A quick idea really. Trying to make something up when writing this. Like imagine a world where there is an afterlife. But not the afterlife you would imagine somewhere else. No, there is only one afterlife, only one eternity, only one paradise. It is not certainty. It is a promise. A promissed reward. For what you ask? For skin made into fine leather of faithful's clothes. For bones crushed, powdered and inhaled. For screams at night given by those unfortunate to encounter the faithful. For all the nightmares those awaiting eternal bliss have brought into the remaining bodies of their ceremonies. And is there that promissed paradise? Is there hope in a dark world with no other god? There is hope certainly. Long withered remainings speak and sing the praise of that paradise. And the most laughable of all things, those enchanted by that song seem to never ask that one question... Is it really the person who witnessed the paradise praising it now? If so, how come they've seen the paradise and returned? For what? To tell others about it, they were so eager to abandon utopia even for a second? Curious, isn't it? It couldn't possibly be just something speaking with that person's vocal cords and voice now, could it? This but a doubt, natural for all faiths. But this one is true. Now, be prepared. Next ceremony is about to begin. Isn't that much more interesting? The void? The dread? The promise? The unknown? The question of what will they, the heroes do, when they find that largely forbidden lore? I think this is what dark fantasy should be all about. Not the disgust, it's not disgusting fantasy. It's about evoking darkness within all people. Asking the questions we don't want to ask. Because how could you blame them, the cultists? For trying to save themselves from oblivion and emptiness? Because how could you not stop them? The cultists? When you know how terrible things they do, you see them, you answered cry for help to put an end to this madness. Doesn't that seem, you know, a little dark?

Um, actually, according to "The Book of Erotic Fantasy" (2003) goblins and hobgoblins cannot breed with humans, elves, half elves, halflings, or dwarves. They can breed with other goblinoid species though such a bugbears, hobgoblins, and orcs. Humans can breed with orcs to make half-orcs, which would be suitable, but even half-orcs cannot breed with half-elf or elf captives. So, this DM is both uneducated and perverted.

That wasn't a plot device, that was a fetish. As soon as I heard Goblins I knew where this was going. A proper DM could still use this, but at least give the players every chance to break free and burn the place to the ground.

This was deeply disturbing to listen to, I can only imagine how deeply disturbing it must have been for the players who were there. I am also saddened that not everyone got up and walked out... It is fucking sick. SA is a trigger for a LOT of people. Both men and women. As a GM and player I feel it is better to let players come to their own conclusions as to whether or not an NPC has been SA and just leave it at that. For instance my group (in which I am a player) rescued a young woman from a dungeon. The GM described that she had clearly been beaten and looked in a poor state. She also clearly did not want to be touched by anyone after she awoke. And the GM just left it at that. None of the characters asked specifics about what happened to her, and none of the players audibly speculated as to what happened to her. But we all kind of shared an inside knowledge that this woman may have been an SA victim, given the evil circumstances of enemies we were facing. And that was it. It was disturbing and upsetting enough and motivated all of our characters to want to end these bad guys all the more. And you should NEVER attempt to SA a player character. Even if it makes sense in the setting or context. (likewise a player should never attempt to SA an NPC). Both acts feel WAYYYY too deeply personal, and like a violation.

How- how- how- how many people use DnD as a means to just insert their fetishes? I'm not gunna pretend I don't have my kinks but like, I would never even *consider* inserting it into a campaign I was building because I have the fking respect of my players and self awareness to think to know everyone would find it nothing but awkward. Also I feel communication is key and to not make assumptions. Especially when it comes to a dark fantasy campaign, you should probably ask how dark the dark fantasy will go. Even more especially if you don't know the game master well. She mentioned she thought it was going to be something similar to Game of thrones. A series well known for brutal physical and sexual violence. So a conversation should have been had and boundaries and ground rules should have been set. I'm not blaming Op. The Dm was a sick freak and hindsight is 20/20.

This reminds me of that time the DM on the RollPlay show did a thing. And what happened afterwards out of character. It reminds me of that, because what ended up happening OOC over it. That being the show ending up cancelled and the DM being banished to the psychotherapy zone. Even though what went down here vs there is on a whole different level of magnitude.
