So how is it goal tending there? What I mean is are they appreciative of you or blame you? I have been on both type of teams. A couple of weeks ago I subbed in a league up from my regular league and gave up 5. 2 of which were directly my fault because I was cramping hard after taking a month off over christmas. The team was super appreciative that I was there. Then there was a team I played for years ago that scored on me more than other teams via deflection and they were super toxic towards me. I couldn't make it out of warmups with them without being gun shy after taking 4 or 5 off the mask. That was a mutual decision for me to leave the team. I did enjoy playing against them later.

Finns are pretty shy and reserved so I feel like you've got to do something egregious to get called out like that. That being said, the groups I play with are really appreciative of me because they know it's almost impossible to find competitive goalies who are also reliable, whether it's being ready to play or just being counted on to not back out an hour before a game. Teams here are more like clubs and regularly run team practices in addition to playing more games. Guys take the hockey more seriously here whereas in Canada a lot of people I played with just used it as an excuse to go drinking once a week. That being said, if anyone wanted to blame me after 4 own goals from my own defensemen, they'd better have good life insurance 😆

@@CaptainsCrease I’m playing in an over 50 league now that is really chill. Up until last game I hadn’t come across any attitude from anybody in the league and then I run into that one guy. Other than him most of us are out there to get some exercise and have some fun with the pretty tight community. Because the Saturday morning nature of the game there isn’t a lot of beer drinking. It was weird subbing in the competitive league and people jabbing me with sticks until the whistle blew.
