For all the experts out there!! 1. We came totally unprepared. We forgot our locking pintle hitch at the shop. Totally our fault. The hitch we did use did have a hook on one side so we had it wrapped around the ball and the hook so it wasn’t as dangerous. Not ideal but it was much safer than you think. Also we couldn’t go forward as the hole gets way deeper and worse if we went forward. And trust me. We wish we could have pulled it straight back but the dirt/ mud that was behind us as soon as you broke the top layer you would sink…. They were pulling from the closest dry ground

You should weld a d-ring shackle off your rear axle so you can hook your recovery rope to that being pulled from the rear axle would help pull your tires up

You are the only one with the nads to attempt it so props for that, please think on putting hook points on your axles to help try and prevent that breakage again. i think youd have been pulled out no issues if you had been hooked on your axle, love the vids

an old bogger/crawler once told me he used grade 5 fasteners on suspension components because they were plenty strong for non high speed stuff, but they would sheer before anything important bent, then he just has a fastener to replace instead of shit that's hard to fix in the field bending/breaking. and he would always carry plenty of fasteners on the tow pig.

Need to hook a good tow strap to that Clevis point on the the rear diff put the other end up in the bed let it lay there and use it for recovery it's a better mechanical leverage point then the bumper point just my two cents glad you got it out with minimal damage though

That is a bad mud hole you got in. It had cattails growing in it for years and then people started trying it again, but then people stopped trying it and the cattails grew back until that little Totota you see at the tugs called Sh!t Head got in it and he ended up breaking his 2-1/2 ton front axle in it, It ripped the top plate off of it. That was before he stuck the 2JZ in it. lol. It's a bad hole.
