It does change something. Small victories are happening over time. There is no "Now we won and the world is saved forever", you gotta keep fighting for the world you want to live in. Spreading awareness for example is a victory as well.

@@ListenToGlobal Um... No. This is an example of dumb people, pretending they are capable of being in this setting and getting LOL'd at by EVERYONE they oppose. I mean, look at the ship they are in and the other ships in the 'fleet'. How much did these useless paint schemes cost? Fiberglass 'speed boat' to catch a slow-ass-ship doing 16kts? What was the point in making them look like military ships? Other than for the amusement of the Japanese. You are simply defending a useless cause, that has and will never amount to nothing. It is a noble one, but if the crew continues to be populated by suburb, spoon-fed, never seen the ocean, still living with parents dingle-berries, it will continue to be laughable.

@QemeH
@QemeH 3 жыл бұрын
That was during a time the japanese followed the rules of international treaties on whaling (although they never signed them, they just followed the rules anyway), which don't allow the killing of whales for commercial purposes, but do allow a certain small quota for research. Sea Shepard and other orgs always questioned the legality over weather this actually was research or not, so the Japanese went very striking with it. And it should be said that the fleet was *never* shown to catch above the quota allowed for research. Since 2018 the japanese decided to resume full commercial whaling, though, so they don't adhere to these small quotas anymore (remember: they never signed the treaties, just adhered to them voluntarily). Which is proof that Sea Shepard isn't just useless, they are worse than useless. Because the Japanese have basically stated that if they were to have the hussle with eco terrorists anyways, they might as well be full whaling.

Sea Shepherds rules: 1. Always talk tough but do nothing. 2. When the whalers kill a whale, cry. 3. Never train or learn proper seamanship. Rule 1 will get you by. 4. If you are a white man please grow dreadlocks. 5. Never disturb the captain. He is old and fat and needs his sleep. 6. Stare through binoculars as much as possible. This will make you look like you are doing something. 7. Ever though all Sea Shepherd missions are failures, always claim they are victories. Lies are a good thing. 8.. Always wear lots of black clothing, sculls, and meaningless "mission" patches. 9. Use prop foulers as much as possible. They never really foul a prop or cause damage of any kind to the whaling ships, but it looks cool when you "deploy" them (and you get to say neat stuff like "Deploy! Deploy!! Deploy!!!" 10. Under no circumstance should you ever save a whale. Remember your primary mission; collect as much cash from idiot donors and look cool for the cameras.

Sure they do. Cumulative estimate is about 5000 Whales. The Jap Government sets a quota for the Whaling fleet which they should catch. Not like a max, but as a goal. They've more or less hit that everytime before the intervention by sea sheperd. When sea sheperd was involved they never hit the quota. Difference caught to quota is about 5 thousand whales.
