The way DMC treats its patients, leaving them doped up in hallways, passive aggressive nurses and aids that are apathetic. Don't ever send a loved one there! This hospital needs to go!!!😡

I volunteered at Children’s Hospital for a few years, and a few years later came back to the DMC to catch up with friends. By that time, Tenant was running things and it was a whole different place. Get rid of Tenant! From what I’ve heard, there have been a lot more problems within the DMC.

Always profit over patients care. Corporations are ruining society. Being the country with one of the highest GDPs we should have free quality healthcare.

You are talking about Tenet. Oba care is actually the president. We are under medical martial law. And the mayor is more powerful and celebrated than the president. Also considered royalty is the governor and bcbs. Blue shield. Why do you think all these candidates keep running back and forth to Michigan every other week. Why are they here? To consult with the king and queen of healthcare.

Agree %100 !! I worked @ a DMC location when it was run by Tenant & it was absolutely deplorable !! & it’s so sad because DMC has great doctors & programs but the other staff just do not care at all about true patient care, surgical conscious, cleanliness etc. they are only there for a paycheck 😢💔

You would be surprised at how often this happens on Psych units. Its usually resident on resident. You can blame hospitals and the very special insurance companies for the lack of funding in adequate staffing. Profits over people is a major problem in regular hospitals and psych hospitals. 100 percent

Wow if this is true their statement isn’t going to age well. They need better PR… they should have said something like we are thoroughly investigating or our patients are our top priority. Anything than what they actually said!!

Sad to say it's nothing new. It mainly happens in youth mental health centers. Happened to my ex and some of the other patients. She was 16 at the time. This was in the 80s. The place was closed down years later for this reason. That and rich parents with high priced lawyers. Old folks homes are the same way.

While I agree legal action needs to be taken, trying to shut the entire DMC down is NOT what we need in metro Detroit. **If we lose Children's Hospital of Michigan, we lose the ONLY pediatric level I trauma center in the Tri-County area.** Kids who are seriously injured in car accidents or other catastrophes will need to be airlifted to Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids for care instead. Do you really want those kids to have to be on the helicopter for that long and hope that they make it in time? Likewise, the only pediatric neurosurgery facilities we have in Southeast Michigan are CHM, and Mott out in Ann Arbor. After that you need to go to Grand Rapids to find a facility that might be able to put a shunt in for a kid with hydrocephalus, etc. Receiving used to be the only adult level I trauma center in the area, but we now have the options of St. John, HFH main campus, and WBH Royal Oak -- but they won't necessarily be able to absorb every major trauma, and there is still travel time by ambulance or helicopter for people who might be closer to Receiving. We also need Karmanos for the cancer patients, and Harper for the cardiac patients. The DMC system is part of our safety net in Metro Detroit. Punish them for the wrongdoing, sue them for damages, but please don't make it so onerous that the entire system has to shut down. We depend on these facilities far too much to let them go. (BTW, I'm affiliated with WBH/ Corewell and Ascension Providence, so I don't have any skin in the game when it comes to DMC. I just know that we need the DMC facilities too)

Worse hospital in the city. DMC has always been terrible. It’s amazing they lasted this long without controversy. May be time to shut it down. Harper is better anyway

I’m stunned that the hospital made that specific a statement about why she was fired. Even if it’s all true, DMC could be in real legal peril, even in the face of a lawsuit. Any information about her firing could and should be released during court procedures, not on a press release. Very bad look on the hospital’s party. Normally they say something like, “we can’t comment on personnel issues and on a matter where there’s pending litigation.
