Dave Culross is tight as fuck, but he's not as creative as Mike Smith and Doug Bohn (Doug really did a tremendous work on Pierced, some of the most unpredictable drumming I've heard), same goes for Eric.

@@jimit.4220 I don't know dude. Don't get me wrong, I love suffocation, and all the lineups through the years, killer live band on top of great music. I saw them at bb kings in Manhattan, I saw them at crazy donkeys at their home base in Long Island, plus few more times in the NY/NJ era. But having said that, they did loose something once Cerrito left. For me pierced from within is THE greatest death metal album ever recoded so maybe I just hold everything after it to too much of a standard.

15 years old at the time didn't ever realize how close we all were in age they were all only 5-7 years older. They were and sill are one of the most brutal live acts. Frank and the guys were still practically kids on this one never noticed back in the day how scrawny Frank the tank was in the beginning.

Ryan Lano This was my first metal fest. It was in a place called The Mecca Arena. The years following it were in the rave, but the years before this one we’re also at the rave. I only lasted two songs in the pit because it was a circle pit and was fucking exhausting! I was in pretty good shape at the time too!

This was also before drum triggers became mandatory for death metal as well--Mike is beating that snare like it owes him money, if you look closely. Drums that sounded like, you know, DRUMS back then was the norm.
