English Translation of 'Bella Siccome Un Angelo' Beautiful as an angel like a pilgrim on earth. Fresh as a lily which opens in the morning. Eyes that speak and laugh, looks that can conquer the heart. Hair blacker than ebony enchanting smile. Enchanting smile. A soul so innocent and candid, that ignores itself; unparalleled modesty, sweetness that with which one falls in love compassionate to the poor, gentle, good, loving. Heaven gave her birth to make happy hearts. to make happy hearts. Heaven gave her birth to make happy hearts. Heaven gave her birth to make happy hearts.

@JustinBernard This is coming up on a search as from a 2006 album “Portrait” - although one commentator here has it in 1996, which would fit the timbre of the voice. He was a bit of a chamelion - his voice (and hair!) seemed to change in character several times during the course of a single year! So, as I am compiling a chronological playlist of his performances, I am a bit stuck as to where to put this one. The attached image suggests the 2000s, the timbre of the voice suggests mid to late 1990s, so, is the album “Portrait” a compilation of earlier performances I wonder? Also, this is a much “higher” timbre than his concert performances of this in the very early 1990s.

He recorded this for Philips label. CD was released in 1994 - BEL CANTO ARIAS and is still available on Amazon.

it's just for fun: one "theory" says that the tenor is the lover in the opera but that the bass (and baritone) gets the girls at the end of the show.

Is this a concert record ? Because this song is the tenor solo...
@lazarlazarevic75513 жыл бұрын
@@Kiarinadia a "tenor" solo? Not true. Dr Malatesta is a baritone - role. I am baritone my self, and i sing it... No idea why do you think it's a "tenor solo"...?

True, great Siberian power. Opera house walls are in great peril of collapsing with him singing!
@martinparks69143 жыл бұрын
Are you kidding? His voice was only big when it was equalized in the studio. In fact, it was especially small in the opera house, and he was baritone by choice (his natural voice was tenor and he 'decided' to be a baritone).

Ottimo baritono leggero
@danieleditommaso76573 жыл бұрын
Non era un baritono leggero, era un baritono che sapeva adattare l'emissione al repertorio che cantava (e che ha cantato meravigliosamente tutto il repertorio baritonale, specialmente drammatico)
@martinparks69143 жыл бұрын
@@danieleditommaso7657 Con una voce piccola, niente da drammatica. Tutto "equalizing"!

My understanding is that one's fach is correlated -- to some extent -- to body height. Basses and baritones are basses and baritones because they are taller and have corresponding longer vocal chords. Tenors are tenors because they are shorter and have corresponding shorter vocal chords. Put on some weight, and they look even worse. Five by five, as the expression goes. Is it true? Don't ask me. I'm biased. I'm a baritone, and above average in height.
@NillZeit7 жыл бұрын
Not in all cases, I'm pretty short and i'm classified as a Bass-Baritone, it is more usual that basses/baritones are tall, but a lot of Tenors are tall too, it has some influence, yes. But it is not a factor to determine a voice. (Sorry if it's not clear, I don't really know if I explained it in a nice way, English isn´t my native language). Hope to have helped you:)
