Greetings from a Scot in Spain. l love your work, Nima, and Dmitri is a great guest, right to the point. As for after the conflict and punishment, as a great believer in justice, I would want to see Nato members punished as well, in fact more so as this is all their fault. In addition to all these countless deaths, Nato's leaders are all traitors to their own countries., especially Germany after Nord Stream. In an ideal world, I would also include the MSM, state mouthpieces, for all their lies. I feel nothing but contempt for them all and despise the insane, warmongering , lying, corrupt West, especially Nato. My humble thanks to all the truth tellers.

The problem isn't particularly that Ukraine invaded Russia, even though the way they did it was definitely a war crime under the Geneva Convention, because it was solely targeted at civilian areas. But the thing that really makes it a problem is they did it while being backed by NATO, both financially and equipment wise. That effectively makes it an invasion by NATO by proxy. Of course, Ukraine has no real way to truly make any of it count. No invasion of Russia could be sustained, and they've already been wiped out. Which begs the question....why would 3000 people give their lives to die for a senseless invasion of Russia that would be quickly stopped? Were they told this was going to be a big sustained push? Because it was essentially a suicide mission. So that's another problem for Ukraine, because it would mean they effectively lied to their own troops and sent them on a suicide mission. I find it hard to believe that 3000 people would even volunteer to do an invasion that would accomplish nothing and barely last a few days. So the only conclusion is that Ukraine must have told them this was the big push, that tons of resources would be devoted to pushing into Russia, and then they were essentially left high and dry, which adds a second element to the war crime.

@@BigSamthemanxXx Yes, and Russia kept its attacks limited to government and military targets, not civilians. That's the thing about how the Geneva Convention sets out war rules. When two countries are at war, attacks on civilian areas are not allowed, and considered war crimes. So Ukraine is free to invade Russia all it wants, it is however not free to simply go into civilian areas and massacre them, which is exactly what happened. They went into undefended towns and slaughtered everyone they could see, then looted and tried to go back over into Ukraine, where they were mostly all taken out by Russia on their way back to Ukraine with all the stuff they looted. This is not an honorable or legal military action under the Geneva Convention. At the same time, they also used chemical weapons in Russia, chlorine gas. Which is also banned by the Geneva Convention because it is a chemical weapon. Why are chemical weapons banned under the Geneva Convention? Because they're indiscriminate. It's the same reason why things like mustard gas was banned. It doesn't just harm troops when it's deployed, the cloud of it can move around outside of the initial area of deployment. Not that it matters here, because they weren't attacking Russia military, they were attacking civilians to begin with. So yeah, Russia invaded Ukraine first, but the Geneva Convention is a national agreement of how one can and can't wage war and invade other countries. Russia has taken special care to follow the Geneva Convention from the start, so that they can say they did follow the Geneva Convention. The Ukraine however, has broken the Geneva Convention hundreds and thousands of times this entire war, in almost every action it has taken. And that's the difference between Russia invading Ukraine, vs Ukraine invading Russia. No one would be decrying the invasion into Russia if it was limited to military targets only, it would be fair game. But that's simply not what happened, and it makes all the difference.

Your guest picked up spot on , the way Russia negotiates , makes an offer e.t.c But he didn't elaborate , that the first offer is usually the sweetest one ( that's Putin's M.O. , not necessarily The Russia or Russians ) What was not said, that in Ukrainian case, first two offers were sweet and generous. The both Minsk peace measures protocols were generous ( despite the objection of Donbass region themselves) And the Estanbul peace pre-signed agreement according to some in Ukrainian top echelon politicians was even sweeter then Minsk protocols. Ukraine would've kept most of their territory including Donbass ( with some guarantees) .

Russia has applied the traditional "Kutuzov theory": sacrificing territory to buy time to address a priority task. Western experts quickly labeled the delay in repelling the Ukrainian attack as a sign of "complete disorganization of the Russian army." However, the Russian military was focused on a different priority: achieving a breakthrough at Pokrovsk. As Ukrainian troops advanced deeper into Russian territory, they began to feel cornered, seeing more opportunities to attack but also facing greater risks. Kyiv attempted to frame its offensive as a success and to occupy Russian territory, but I see no realistic military means for them to achieve this. The goals of their breakthrough were unclear at first glance, and Ukrainian soldiers would have had to control large areas, when they were needed in Donbass. Now, Moscow's main objective is to capture Pokrovsk, the largest logistics hub supplying Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines. The Ukrainian Armed Forces crossed the border with ease and initially encountered little resistance, which turned out to be a trap. If the Ukrainians continue to advance, they may find themselves surrounded. Ukraine's strategy to attack the Kursk region in order to divert Russian troops away from Donbass has not succeeded. Consequently, the Russian army continues its advance towards key areas to maintain balance on the front lines. Additionally, the Wall Street Journal has recognized that the initial plan of the West was to seize the Kursk nuclear power plant and establish a foothold in Kursk. However, there was a critical limitation-the Ukrainian military had only seven days to accomplish this, and they failed.
