Rather than to think of the Op 28 as 24 separate works, I have always considered the Preludes to be one work in 24 movements, collectively representing the entire person of Chopin, his body, mind and soul. It would seem to me that every aspect of his personality is there, and you have captured it all so beautifully in this performance, Dmitry. Congratulations on a remarkably fine and nuanced performance! I think Chopin would be quite envious of your hands! They are so wonderfully expressive, as you are ever your elegant, refined self! God bless you!

The wonderful Dmitry again, it is so pleasing and capturing to listen. The best pianist of our time, I always think he must have "the hands of god" to play in such a way.

No one plays Chopin like Dmitry. The technique, the speed .... Flawless. 💕

I 'm composer and not pianist. I'm not good at playing the piano Take care...

hooooooly shit that 8th Prelude actually matched Pollini
@richardcox4354Ай бұрын
Your comment made me play them side by side over and over! Fascinating to compare - Shishkin's slightly more deliberate pace perhaps brings out the anger more, Pollini the despair: both are devastating tumults of grief. How desperately sad Chopin was.....
