Dear David, thank you so much for the video! The old OS engine is indeed the first .29 glow engine by OS, produced in 1949 and 1950 (the 1950 version is the one you show, minor changes with respect to the 1949 version). The previous 1948 sparker version is very rare, the crankcase was made via sand-casting, not die-cast, and the exhaust ports had no central pillars. These two versions are depicted in the 1936-2020 timeline pdf document in the OS website and there is a nice comnentary by Adrian Duncan in his website. Aye, 25 % castor for the OS (very important). 5% nitro would be good.

Great engines and looking forward to the run. For the OS (assuming it’s plain bearing) I’d use 25% castor and low nitro content fuel. Also a 9x5 prop. For the Saito

Suggest you use a fuel with lots of oil (20% at least) for that vintage OS engine David.

Acording to manual Saito FA-115 range 14x8 to 14x10, 15x6 to 15x8 or 16x6, something like most 120 engines, that OS 29 Is a jewel, let see what info i can find abouth that engine.

I found a review by Adrian C Duncan in model engine news and another more complete in his web site, mostly on the gas ignition but almost at the end talks abouth the glow version test using 10x6, 11x4 prop with some RPM figures.
