This channel doesn’t post anymore, but I want to thank the owner of this channel for putting me onto Terence 9 years ago. This was the first video that started it all for me when I was curious about the psychedelic dimensions and it’s many modalities. It’s what led to my eventual obsession with psychedelic research, it’s what led me to pursue a career in it, and it was what led me to meeting Dr. Dennis J McKenna, Terence’s brother, around 2017. It was great to tell him my tale, and although I doubt anyone’s going to read this, I wanted to leave this comment here as a milestone and reminder of what kicked it all off for me. It took me awhile to find this video again, but this was it- this is what started it all for my young teenaged self until now. Thank you!

The chemical Dimethyltryptamine(DMT) is released in the brain when dying. It is also the Secondary compound in plants that is used to communicate with the surrounding environment, so it is almost like the spiritual language in plants. But, here's the interesting thing.. All lifeforms have DMT already synthesized within them, including Plants, Animals and Humans. When on it, it makes you think and be in complete cognition and interconnections within the whole of life in a hypersensitive state of mind presenting expansion of awareness through the Pineal Gland(6th Chakra). In my standpoint and viewpoint, it is not a drug but a genetic compound molecule found in and placed in all forms of life. It gets deeper... I believe and know that everything material or in the form of physical existence consist of atoms, but an atom itself is Half Energy and Half Material, with this, you also need to keep in mind that since an atom is half material then the Material field can keep breaking down in subdivisions until the entire Atom is 100% energy.. So what I am trying to say is everything in its deepest logic is complete energy. So when Spiritual energy is formed the first primary steps and beginning of formations of spiritual energy is a molecule formed with 49 atoms in it... and that is a single grain of DMT, (Also, there are 49 shapes that consist in every Galaxy). DMT is spiritual energy in a physical form. I suspect, if you were to utilize and cultivate DMT then you could enhance and grow bigger and better and more psychoactive plants to increase the evolutionary progress of such plants. It is also to my knowledge that every element and mineral and vitamin and molecule is in our DNA. For Example: We react to cannabis because we have cannabanoid receptors in our DNA, etc. We react and absorb everything that is material based and energy based. This leads me to the profound fact that we(Humans) are the highest physical lifeform that the Universe uses as Fulfillment and Consciousness(Free Will). Then you have to ask yourself "How did we Humans come to existence?" And the answer is, If the Plant kingdom acts on Impulse and the Animal kingdom acts on Instinct, than it is safe to say we Humans meet in the middle and create Consciousness(Free Will). So, when the plant kingdom is evolved high enough and the animal kingdom is evolved high enough, than the dead animal tissue and dead plant tissue will combine cells and amino acids that make a Animal/Plant hybrid organism that the human spirit can then manifest in(like a Natures Womb that exists in freshwater that collects and binds minerals, trace elements, and vitamins which are present in the ground, as well as in the air and in the water through the membrane and converts them into a natural food source for the human lifeform to exist). In other words, when Flora and Fauna come in contact with each other you have a motivational force of nature(Spirit) and a behavioral force of nature(Ego) bonding together creating a combination of impulse and instinct in which the human identity lies in between. So, in terms it is actually Evolution Vs Religion or Nature Vs Belief... With this concluded it then comes up that Every lifeform is the Universe exploring itself in different paths and in different manners and fashions. Humans are the the highest physical lifeforms that are the way the Universe grows in Fulfillment and Evolution. Humans live to grow from the Logic and Laws of Creation and Wisdom within Consciousness and Spirit, when a Human dies, we give off the Logic and Wisdom we've learned the previous lifetime and give it back to the Universe so it itself can grow in its own Collective Consciousness/Evolution that we are part of. We don't live forever and we don't die forever. Our Spirits live in physical existence and physical bodies until our spirits have reached a level where all logic and wisdom and laws of creation are embedded into Consciousness and no longer needs the physical body and ascends into a complete spiritual(energetic) being. All a "God" is, is a being on the highest realms of physical existence that in his next lifetime he'll no longer need the physical body! I hope this helps your understandment of what it Life truly is through the Laws of Creations and the values within Nature and Life :).

yeah. to say you made it understandable would be the understatement of the century. I would like to understand what your getting at (and I am by no means a simpleton of any sort) but everything ran together and your idea got lost in a mess of words with barley any cohesion. I am sure you wrote it with the intent of explaining your idea, yet that very idea got lost in a spiders web of confusion. So you got to slow down, try again and explain your hypothesis better. Maybe use some analogies or metaphors to explain what your getting at because for now its just idea soup By the way, I consider myself well versed on DMT, where its located, what it does, what effects it has etc. So, this shouldnt be as hard to follow for me as it is.
@blissabyss5648
@blissabyss5648 10 жыл бұрын
I understand your statement but that is solely not the case, because, If you're going to talk about the chemistry of DMT than you also have to talk about energy in a whole of existence. And with existence you have to understand evolution and the reason behind why we are here... I understand how you may think I got lost within my words of explanation, but I didn't, maybe it is you who has not proceeded in following my words correctly.

***** ....maybe. on another note, nice video on your page "what DMT is like based on 25 trips" I like his frame of mind about being infinite,which im sure we are. and its not me, my friend. Like whatever it is might be something familiar that your soul remembered in early childhood but aging and society has caused that memory to blur out. I recall in early childhood experiencing other worldly divine visions that felt more real than this, and I didn't really remember it until I learned about the experiences DMT gives people. I often wonder if that was my brain releasing larger portions of DMT out of my pineal gland in early childhood since I was so much closer to birth. Idk though

As an individual who has experience with DMT, LSD, Psylocybin, 2C-E, 2C-I, reading books and many hours of unrestricted thought, I have this to say about Terrence Mckenna: Interesting, curious, but ultimately a kind of imagination run wild. Mckenna's mind moves in leaps and bounds, connecting dots you never saw as related in curious, spectacular ways... but at the end of the day, it's nothing but raw speculation. Mckenna nonetheless reminds me of something I've long held as a truism. Psychedelic drugs provide an extraordinary opportunity to review, compile and reconfigure knowledge you already possess. They do not give you any new knowledge in and of themselves, however. Shrooms=interesting. Shrooms after reading lots and lots of books=mindblowing.

I am not making a comment on the validity or the nature of anything he is saying, I am simply saying that you should not worship his words as 100% truth. HE HIMSELF teaches against taking anything you are taught in face value. This man lived an extraordinary life, and he made some amazing insights. Learn from them, but do not misunderstand his teachings by worshiping and defending every opinion he held.

27:00 Terence describes word for word a belief ive held for many years. You are everyone, everyone is you. This biological mass of a human body binds us to an 'ego' which has us believe we are autonomous and unconnected. Like potrusions a human body makes undernearth a sheet on a bed, from above these potrustions look broken, unconnected and unique, these represent us on in our concious state in this reality, able only to glmpse across the white sheet at other protrusions yet unable to peek below the sheet and see we are just all connected together in one mass.

Awesome example, Snotling Master. I've always modeled it after having a bowl of water on the table, and dipping all five of your fingers on one hand in up to the second knuckle. Everything "below" the surface where the fingers are separate represents our waking, ego-consciousness reality of separation. Where the fingers unite again at the palm represents source consciousness, transcendental object at the end of time, etc.

I disagree that there is some kind of meaning hidden in the glossolalia. The meaning only comes from your interpretation of it, otherwise it is just noise.I realize you can say the same thing about normal language, but things only have meaning in terms of language. What does," subterranean to the semantic level of language," mean? Isn't language strictly for the purpose of conveying meaning? Experience is a presentational form given to us by the senses, is it not? I guess what I'm trying to ask is what's your point?

Fox Mulder If you feel the question is not answered, or there is insufficient evidence then set it aside and label it as a mystery. Many people chose to take the word of those who say that we went there, and their understanding is often quite good. Remember that absence of evidence doesn't mean evidence of absence. Just because they can't/don't/haven't answered the questions you are dwelling on - doesn't mean that there aren't answers. Besides, does the idea that we went to the moon or not actually effect your life? If not, I don't see the sense in dwelling on the questions. I personally have thought about similar things, I've talked to those with education on the matter and have found there to be sufficient evidence. You may not come to the same conclusion, which is fine. :)

renarand I recently learnt that Jesus had it right, be careful of trippers like Terence Mckenna because they sound like they know what they are talking about because they have had a lifetime of becoming wise in the own estimation of the questions regarding truth. This has given them a degree of accuracy but it hasn't actually produced any truth. Jesus DID produce truth, through him we can get a true knowledge of God rather than a control driven belief. Mckenna had so much of this accuracy that he was very close to the yeast of understanding that permeates every part of the dough, although humanly speaking it's impossible - but with God anything is possible.

I do think it possible that at least some of the beings encountered in dmt experiences are snapshots of our own possible futures. For example, Mckenna's experiences seem to have clearly and repeatedly shown him entities that speak intention into form; that turn ideas & meaning into a visual & tangible substance. This ability could be a snapshot of a highly advanced form of the kind of information transfer that youtube has enabled. Words spoken years ago by Mckenna in some lecture theatre on the other side of the world can now be transferred as a piece of visual information (a youtube video) with a few mouse clicks. It's as though the dmt experience can show you a glimpse of a possible future, then the actions that you the beholder take from that point on determine whether or not that future will come to fruition.

He seemed to be forgetting that humans, like octopi, do in fact have a form of language that transcends cultural barriers. It's our body language. A smile for example, is universal. Now, I realize that the context of said smile will be of varying significance culture to culture, but it is nonetheless an expression caused by inner-workings which are similar for all of us.
@Adrian4713
@Adrian4713 10 жыл бұрын
Just because he didn't talk about it does not mean he is unfamiliar with what you have just said. It is that no matter how in depth you can get about one subject, you can always add more to that subject. One topic can be talked to death, and still, it might not even scratch the surface of meaning it has for someone else, who could in turn talk the subject to death how he sees it, and then the next person will have more stuff to add that the person "forgot". They didn't necessarily forget. They just didn't choose to go into a whole other area of the topic. The problem exists also that much of what he has to say is that speech itself is ambiguous. We don't reveal everything with only our mouth movements. And body language, as you said, is interchangeable from each culture of people. Body language can also be manipulated by an intelligent sociopath. I wonder if those octopi can manipulate their colors.

JaviAIR The term meme was coined in Richard Dawkins' 1976 book The Selfish Gene, but Dawkins later distanced himself from the resulting field of study.[2] Analogous to a gene, the meme was conceived as a "unit of culture" (an idea, belief, pattern of behaviour, etc.) which is "hosted" in the minds of one or more individuals, and which can reproduce itself in the sense of jumping from the mind of one person to the mind of another. Thus what would otherwise be regarded as one individual influencing another to adopt a belief is seen as an idea-replicator reproducing itself in a new host. As with genetics, particularly under a Dawkinsian interpretation, a meme's success may be due to its contribution to the effectiveness of its host.

When he started talking about the powered of memes, Hitler was one of the first things to come to my mind, and he mentioned it.....also, the word comraderie hit me with a sort of coincidence. They were just pulling that word apart in episode 8 or 9 of the show called severance that I watched yesterday. They were honing in on the meaning of that word. Life feels like it is some type of syntactic game played out by God or meaning itself

I actually had this experience long before I even heard of the word “glossolalia”. It was a quiet summer night a few years back. I was pretty wasted on some good whiskey and I smoked some good amount of cannabis right after and started to feel like I’m going to get very sick so I decided to go outside around 2 am and take a walk, and as I was walking I randomly started to kinda talk/sing in a made up language which made me calm. I eventually passed out in my backyard that night and woke up in the morning. But, what is really interesting is that the next day when I woke up and I looked around me there were broken branches all over my backyard and the neighborhood, as if there was a huge storm happening the night before. Could that be the glossolalia that cause (called in) the storm, or was it just simply a coincidence, I don’t know!

Terrence McKenna was a traveller into matter energy space and time and thought. He went with an open mind into terra incognita & mare incognitum, ( unknown land and unknown sea) the vehicle of this journey was DMT, just like a space man uses a rocket. McKenna went where few men have gone before, and when he came back he bought with him the knowledge of the gods. If you take out the moral right and wrongness of doing drugs o natural or not. What you have is a man who had an incredible mind.

The level of confidence in some comments on these videos disgusts me. You take for granted that the ideas that pop into your head are fact. If you're truly open minded you're open to that what happens after death could be the exact opposite of what you believe so much. For all we know life could be exactly as we see it, the world could be as shitty and 1 dimensional as it's perceived by the majority. People like Terence are just crazy people doing drugs, and life after death is just pure consciousless nothingness.

Jason Shults Interesting. Like what? After my trip where I had an ego death I had this strong feeling that we're all just one, like leaves on a tree. That consciousness is like water, you carry your drop, give it an identity and a history, and once you die, it's dropped back and dissolved into the ocean of everything. Any similarities?
@andollio1337
@andollio1337 8 жыл бұрын
Jason Shults That sounds very beautiful, but I would definitely have been scared haha. Thanks a lot for sharing. I definitely think you're right about everything being conscious, I had the realization after my trip that reality exists within consciousness and not vice versa, as I had thought. I also think quantum physics is well on its way towards proving this hypothesis, it pretty much already has, but the conclusion has not been made. If you experienced the vastness, did you ever at some point feel extremely lonely?
@andollio1337
@andollio1337 8 жыл бұрын
Jason Shults I think every little bit of it is extremely interesting, because I know that such experiences feel more real than the definition of real. And if they feel more real than this reality they must be right..? How would we otherwise, subjectively define whats real..

***** its clear that you don't understand. All of that stuff is great. But doing it on mushrooms so to speak is very different. You are thinking for yourself. Very much for your self. You don't understand until you have done it. I travel all over, it doesn't compare to experiencing the same exact setting on mushrooms. You are not in some new mythical fake land. You are in the same setting, experiencing the same objects etc, in a different mental capacity.

There is a huge disconnect in man's evolution because our bodies is still basically the same as far as metabolic functions go but our nervous system is getting more and more complex as a result of fragmentation in every aspect of our lives. A major problem is with our diet & separation from nature, which does not support healthy neural function. We are overloaded with stress & toxins and are unable to keep up with the natural process of evolution. Our behaviors/language promote chaos as it is.

Dreaming while awake may be a far more intense experience than regular sleep-dreaming, since the body has not yet decoupled it's inter-organ communication meta-networks, as it often does prior to "deep sleep." The experience of dreaming while awake is induced by many popular psychedelics. Think about how sleep often becomes inhibited in LSD or Psilocybin mushroom states -- maybe the body assumes that it's already asleep and dreaming!

My take on what it is, IS ancestry in a sense of the spirits and energies that make up that area in time with you in it. Planes, like a onion. In fact I think we embark into the language of plants, on there frequency...I always feel my ears go up, like blood pressure. In that it's the feeling of reaching such a high frequency so quickly. The last beings that I visited with told me that 'they were expecting my visit'; and I had visited the time before that with a nonverbal being....my last visit, I had been more aware of plants even grass right before. It was my instinct to get more acquainted with the grass in my front yard, it gave me a hunch that my thoughts could travel on the grasses frequencies.
