I took acid last night and it made me realise we are ultimately alone in this reality, yes there are other people but only one self, we have no reason to trust anything over our own brain and this has been a hard pill to swallow because I’ve always wanted someone in my life that was just like myself, wich is strange because I have myself already.

First learn who you really are (your soul minus the cultural conditioning/programming of society) then love that person with all of your being. You will inevitably attract a person into your life who matches you, it is a universal law. When I learned to truly love myself I began to love spending time alone and I ironically attracted my perfect soul mate match. The infantile part is our arrested development. It takes a wise and mature parent to raise a child to be able to deal with the complex world. But if a parent can’t mirror the child and fill its needs adequately, it freezes and ceases growing emotionally. So now, as Terrence said, we are still children who missed the time to interact with the world in such a way as to create confidence in our ability to navigate reality. We often never had a firm place to ground and then individuate from the mother, so we’re prey to looking outside of ourselves for someone to see us and tell us what to do. The culture doesn’t acknowledge this condition. We act as if all a person is, is their outward presentation self. A person can be filled with inner turmoil, yet go through a lifetime without ever discussing it or having anybody see it. Multiply that by millions, and you have a big problem. Thank you for posting and thank you for being alive Terrence. You have lifted my soul.

If you shut off the TV and just live your life, you will find yourself more aware of the world that is your actual universe. On top of that in times where you are alone it might seem like your life or what makes you you only goes on in your head in your head voice. But this is only your unending flow of simulating power in the brain. But it comes from within you and you can chose to make an output now from your brain out into your universe. Instead of getting input into your brain from outside your universe all day long. When you turn on the TV and watch the news and see: a bus came off the street and slid down a hill: 3 deaths, in russia was a protest, in Indonesia was an erathquake, in Germany corporations X and Y merged into the biggest corporation in the industry, and the rona numbers from all around the globe and some fear mongering especially about the virus. We humans are by nature empathetic and cant turn it off. When we hear tragic news everyday about anyone in the world, we can only imagine what it would be like to have that happen to oneself. But studies showed that the feeling we feel when we are empathetic with someone is exactly the same or very very similar to the actual feeling you would have if said thing happens to you. So in a way this constant stream of imformation which is on average negative news will keep you in a constant state of fear. Your cortisol level decrease with less television exposure.

In all walks of life we have experts. In our modern world we have experts on the economy, and automobile industry experts, and even experts on religion: we call this last group of people, traditionally, preachers or pastors. The true danger that hovers around psychedelics, is that there is no Pioneer. You are the Pioneer of psychedelic exploration, because only you can experience what you will experience. With psychedelics, experience is the only pathway, and with repeated use, we begin to set a path for ourselves, akin to declaring a physical path by walking through the forested woods once, then twice, then tree times, over and over again until there is a distinct path, just for you, which you have marked out for your own self, as well as for others. This is the true danger of Psychedelic experiences: to create, that which did not before come into existence.

The East Man psychedelics are dangerous in the same way that exploring the Amazon is dangerous: it’s unmarked territory. This is Walmart, and there are no signposts. Being under the influence is like being dumped in the middle of the rain forest and told to start walking.

Mitch Gilbert I have no idea of your experience with psychedelics my friend but I'll tell you about mine. I'm 73 years old, married three times, college and university teacher for twenty years, I have two brilliant children and a loving wife and, on top of it all I have been using psychedelics for fifty years or just about. Im just as sound of mind as anyone and I can tell you that I have explored states of awareness and spaces of knowledge most people have no Idea exist. This psycho-exploration has made me more peaceful, more loving and more appreciative of everybody in this world; I have met with powerful spirits, magical spaces and I have contemplated the infinite majesty of the Divine in His (or Her's) creation. So when you tell me that using psychedelics is like traveling the Amazon, you make me smile as I have traveled much wilder places and I'm grateful for what was taught to me. I don't have much time left on this wonderful earth but I live every instant in delight and gratitude, thanks to the help of psychedelics. The little mushrooms have been particularly generous with me and I recommend you make their acquaintance if you want your life to really become something worthwhile. Bless you and keep searching.

I feel very strongly these are linked, and that of course we can't get control of the world, because we are children in some profound way, and we don't like being children. But the culture has reinforced a form of infantilism." 06:02 "We insert ourselves like ants or honey bees into hierarchies of knowledge. And all institutions require this of us, that we somehow redefine ourselves for the convenience of the institution. 1 dose of acid was a 12 hr journey it was beautiful I rode the wave of life up and down learned expectance and to let go and move on it’s going to be ok and that love is not external it’s truely within one’s self the tears I cried that night as I wiped them from my face as I looked at them on my hand they were like the stars in the night sky at that moment I realized we are the universe and we are connected to everything and with that when you find some one to share love with can be truely an amazing experience I broke threw the wall of limits danced with the spirit of life itself watched the I could see thepaintings come to life the sun rise was the most beautiful thing ever I felt the rays showered me with love and grace as I was breathing I seen the trees breathing my breath then I was breathing from them it was the most beautiful life cycle we were dependent on each other I truly felt unconditional love from the trees across the road that day they were my lungs I was there’s🫶❤️

Thank you for posting this. I would like to mention it is important to keep a perspective on using stimulants that have such a profound effect on your psyche. Using a powerful stimulant, it really doesn't require more than one or two experiences. This is not some casual thing. MCKENNA mentions this : it is necessary to process the experience. It might be best to see this as an evolutionary step, not as a weekend diversion, it's going to seriously change your head.

"A lot" of people choose not to understand Terrence McKenna, because the notion that they could have bettered themselves if they had eaten a kind of mushroom is repulsive to their sensibilities, and I kind of see their point... except that compared to college tuition, anyone can afford a psychedelic trip in their life, for no other reason than to gain some new perspective, which is exactly why these elitist pricks can't ever admit to the possibility that there's a faster, and cheaper way to gain knowledge than sitting in a class to obediently repeat spoken information, as that would invalidate their sense of safety in society. The secret they didn't learn is that it's got nothing to do with the drugs, and everything to do with the courage to step into a frame of mind in which you are very uncertain of what is true or not, and it just so happens that mind-altering substances will bring you to that boundary between reality and illusion paradoxically with quite a regular amount certainty. See, they can't do stuff like mushrooms, because it's scary, so they can't allow themselves to believe that people who do dive into the deep-end might know something of value that they will never know. Ironically, it's that belief that instantiates itself, and the ingesting of mushrooms just happens to be one kind of a human-centric dynamic by which that drama can perpetually recreate itself. So it's not really about the method of acquiring perspective; it's about learning to let your mind take you to places that you can only go to alone, in _any_ way you choose to do that. Decades later, they're still not ready to leave the safety of the classroom mentality. That's where their minds came from, and it's where their minds remain.

You can have a psycadelic experience without exogenous drugs. Your body is a literal drug factory. One way you can tap in to your body's endogenous chemical processes is to eat healthy foods and exercise hard. You can "trip" and have spiritual experiences in a maintainable way that preserves your natural homeostasis with the side effect of longevity and a fit body and mind. Just something to think about :)

Normalize Universal Grammar...Lets make all languages come to an agreement and agree on grammar. Linguistics are fundamental to every biological system. We're only beginning to understand what consciousness is and what it means. Communication is the most important aspect of humanity. But, what about between earth and humanity?
@adamgorelick37142 жыл бұрын
I've never quite made up my mind about the ontology of Terrence McKenna - some of it seems rather silly and some of it truly paradigm shifting. But there's no question of his intelligence, intellect, or deep passion for exploration of consciousness. But when he speaks of humans remaining in a larval state, never even knowing that higher stages of consciousness are possible, this resonates with me in a deep and unsettling way. Because atavistically, if not experientially, I know he's right.

I don’t know if I enjoyed it or not, it was just so intense and It’s like my higher self commanded me to breath. Probably didn’t help that I was on a rocking boat. As this was all happening I was trying to release the fear that gripped me in a vice around my chest, but I so just wanted to enjoy the light show that was getting put on for me. As it started to wear off, I was so thankful to come out of it. Not sure I’ll ever try it again, but if I ever do, I’ll make sure I’m on solid ground 😂
