All these comments are saying "who does that?" but this is actually SUCH a common mistake for so many people. I may not have seen it, but as far as I could tell I couldn't see the stop light in this video. I took my first test last summer and failed for this reason - my examiner told me to turn left (light was green), I yielded the right of way, did my turn, then was told that I had run a red light. I didn't see the light change when I went, was extremely nervous. For all we know, this guy could've done the same exact thing! It all boils down to nerves and making one tiny mistake. it's been nearly a year now, and I'm taking my second test tomorrow and feel like a much more confident driver. You live and you learn!

just saying, thats one of the biggest mistakes with the driving test... they want you to be looking everywhere constantly and it makes you miss what youre really supposed to be paying attention to. they mark you down if you dont and youre forced to exaggerate what you would regularly do when driving. if he was on a regular drive, without having to exagerate each look around im sure he wouldnt have missed the red light

After failing 2 times I finally passed my test last week. I got in trouble time before last with a turn to but not at a light. You are supposed to yield to oncoming traffic whenever you are making a turn regardless of whether it is at a light or not. I yielded to 2 cars and the lady was like turn now and literally took the wheel to turn it even though I was yielding to the car coming then I would have gone. That was an auto fail because of examiner intervention (completely unnecessary). When I took the test again last week I had the same situation but this time, I only yielded to one car and then I turned even though there was another car coming about 100 yards away which was apparently fine because I did not get any marks against me for that turn and still passed the test with only 7 minor errors.

Hawthorne is a nicer (but harder) DMV than Torrance. After failing the test twice (March 2020 and May 2021), I gave Torrance a shot. What failed me was similar to what was displayed in the video. In November 2021, I took my behind the wheels test at Torrance, hoping I would do better. I ended up failing because the second batch of residential streets (North Denker and Cota) were so narrow I was torn between parked cars on my right and oncoming traffic on my left. The examiner grabbed the wheel because I "lost control". I returned to Hawthorne for June 2022 (coincidentally during Finals Week and Graduation at El Camino College) and ended up passing with only 10 mistakes.

Just failed my drivers test bc of 1 critical error. I didn't yield quick enough for my tester as i was going left on a green, she got nervous and told me to slow down, i did see the car on the opposite side of me a bit late but i did yield. Good thing she was chill, I don't think i could've handled someone yelling at me. Actually, you can lose points, its called impeding traffic. If you are too scared to make a right turn on a red light when there is nothing coming and are holding people behind you back, that is showing you are unsure and are not ready to be driving. Only time you will not lose points waiting is if there is a no right-turn on red sign.

You should stop at the white line in the left turn lane. You'll automatically fail your test if you go into the intersection before you can enter and exit safely. Only go into the intersection when you can enter and exit safely. Plus, if you're turning left on a solid green light, the incoming traffic in the opposite direction of you has the right of way. You can only go when the way is clear. If you're in the intersection when the light turns red, you'll fail your test.

Don't think you would have passed even if the left turn at the red light had even been in play, you looked extremely nervous your head was all over the place not where it was suppose to be, extremely jerky on the brakes and also seemed liked you had get up to speed as fast as you could looked liked you were speedy gonzola's coming off all the stops
