i think the minute the instructor basically threatened to fail her at the beginning, she felt anxious and began making mistakes. it’s understandable why she got the deduction, you’re supposed to drive slow in a parking lot especially if there are pedestrians. however i don’t think the way he warned her helped during the test. i’m grateful that i had a driving instructor that was nice and understanding and when he tested me he had the same attitude. good attitude = good driver = pass test. i’m surprised she passed but hopefully she improves the more she drives.

He treated her fairly and I would not want to be tested by someone who sugar coated my actions, when I know I am using a heavy operational machine that can harm or kiII people, he did his job and she has one more chance to take the test and pass, I think the student driver needs more practice and ways to ease their anxiety, we cannot see how she was handling the wheel, left/right signal, or the gears so let’s not judge and blame the examiner for the student driver being a risk to people around them if the student driver makes a mistake.

Keep practicing and go at it again. You’re bound to get someone who believes in you. But for me I took a step further by contacting a private license and professional dmv agent that helped me to write a provisional letter to bypass the test drive and i was given a provisional driver's license which will last for 12 months. I got a license now and it will serve for 1 years then I renew again. The first time I took it I had the most rudest examiner ever. Yelled at me because she wanted my dash cam to be completely removed which was literally installed into my tail lights. Couldn't remove it so basically broke it and shoved the camera inside my car then I complemented her hair when we got started to lighten the mood and she didn't even say thank you she just looked at me like she didn't gaf. From there she criticized every small thing I did on the road and it caused anxiety and errors I usually wouldn't make but I got so out of character because this person was on my butt and commenting on every small thing I did. I mean really lady you're supposed to give me directions and judge my driving not yell at me and tell me every error I make while I'm trying to focus and stay calm. Yea no wonder, I can easily make the argument that the reason nobody takes driving tests seriously is because people like this driving instructor don't know how to properly educate them about it without yelling in into their ears and trying to control them with fear. If you continue to just control somebody with fear, in what world are they going to learn? They're already nervous as it is due to it being a test, yet it makes it 10 times worse when the examiner acts like a toddler and gets mad at you for every single thing you do even if it isn't that big of a deal. So while you're over here thinking "Wow I must've really taught them well" they are scared of you and most likely never want to work with you again. Then we wonder why unemployement is so high and ect. How can someone be so ignorant? It boggles the mind, I mean common sense should tell you that people learn way more from being a role model. No one wants to learn from the mean old grumpy dude who doesn't care about job and only does it for the money. If that's the case how about you go get a different job since your current one is so "stressful". Stop acting like examiners are marines over here fighting for our country. They get an easy job that most likely pays way more then it's supposed to. Maybe if they were a little more motived and had a better attitude the examiner wouldn't have this problem of people being in so much fear they can't even drive properly. This girl was clearly in the wrong and they still let her pass, which even further proves my point. "most people don't take driving tests seriously" most people? Where in Miami? Most people who are trying to get their license have been studying and putting in as much work as they possibly can to pass that test knowing if they don't they have to pay for another one. Why would someone go through all that trouble of paying for more and more appointments if their goal wasn't to get their license?
@lotus46992 жыл бұрын
@Garden State NJ Thanks for acknowledging my point. They need a better system where the instructers are nicer and way more friendly. But them being friendly isn't really the key to fixing this even know it is a part of a the puzzle. The key to fixing this entirely is a proper education system on how to drive properly. It's sometimes not even the instructers fault honestly even know they can be pretty mean. The instructers shouldn't be such sourpusses to the people they are supposed to be helping. Plus they can't get mad at someone for not being taught properly. Hah I mean the only person you can blame here is the master. Probably why they are so upset, considering it reflects upon how bad their training was from the driving school. But yea you're 100% right though they shouldn't be so difficult it really makes me wonder where our society is going at this point.

whats crazy is I live in washington and most people agree we have the strictest driving test in the country, but with the way the test is laid out you can literally fail *all* of it as long as you don't break a law between the testing section (parking on hill, backing round corner, parallel parking, lane changing and turning. Each section is worth 5 points, and you start at 100 and can lose up to 20 points (resulting in 80) before you automatically fail. So you could completely fail all four sections losing 5 points each and still pass as long as you're perfect between each section. As a student I thought this was super strict, but as a driver with a few years of experience now it seems borderline insanely lenient. And to think most think it's the strictest in the country...

We're talking car safety check, hand signs, parallel parking, backing up, a school/playground zone (3 zones if you're unlucky like me), pulling over and doing a verbal hazard perception test, turning wheels parking uphill/downhill, roundabouts, and reverse parking in addition to what she did in this video. And usually the examiner only talks to give the directions and won't give advice like when to turn or if there's a construction zone or if they should be looking out the rear window. If the examiner is giving tips like that where I live, it means you already failed and now the exam is just a learning experience. I remember my parallel park i was a little too far and I remember my instructor swinging the door and giving me a deadpan stare of disappointment. This instructor was calm and very good with instructions on what to do and tried not to rush her (my instructor kept rushing me and also sucked at directions so).

The examiner in this case was extremely annoying and he should not be authorized to be an examiner with the attitude. He had no patience and was so full of himself

It was a tad-bit fast, but not excessively fast. Examiner was acting like a dough.

Wow I just took my drivers test yesterday and I had the nicest instructor ever. He was so calm and patient and the rode test was super easy. Driving isn’t hard you just have to be aware that your driving for other part not only yourself ! I passed with flying color 🎉

This guy seemed like a jerk..so glad he passed her..she was obviously being over cautious BECAUSE of him.

He had no reason to be that rude at the beginning; threatening to stop the test only because of a small mistake can only make things worse for the driver.

I mean she was speeding in the parking lot, maybe he didn't have to threaten her but her job is to drive them both to and from safely

she could kill someone like a small child that decides to run out for a toy or any amount of scenarios as a driver SAFETY AND CAUTION FIRST

well you aren't supposed to be driving fast in a parking lot, you could kill someone that is walking or hit a car that is entering or leaving a parking space

She waited foooooreverrrrr to turn, I think I died and started a new life by the time she was back to the DMV.

took a road test today and my examiner was clearly upset and tired due to a upset person before her, failed me for not looking both ways on a dead railroad. tough

I think the examiner was mixed with assertive, aggressive, and patient. I really wanted to like this examiner. However, when he said it's called a ramp and when he told her he would fail the test if she continue speeding at the beginning, was unnecessary. I am all about examiners being assertive, but do so in a fair way, not a way that is going to make the drivers loose confidence. That road is an not easy route to drive either because it is a parking lot next to a multilane road, which is pretty much a highway. You have to go from 0 to 40 mph while doing so safety, talk about multitasking. I think he let up on her by being sympathetic when she took a long time at that left turn. He realized he might have been too tough on her during the test, which is why he waited for her at the end. God Bless.

Don’t be a driving instructor if you have no patience obviously most people are going to be a little anxious. Nobody was born a perfect driver.
