Thanks! Such a great tutorial. For a band with a backing track this is perfect. Otherwise, I would just set up a cue cart and trigger by hand. Would be great to have an AI assist that could run cues based on FFT analysis of audio input, but I am dreaming. For now.

I have one question about this video. Do you have the lighting license for QLab? Because normally you could only use 16 dmx channels, without any license. Or is there another possibility to get more dmx channels? I want to do it, but I am not able to do it. Maybe you can help me. Thanks.

Yes indeed, I have the lighting licence. I do lots of stuff in theatres as well, so use it a lot. It is expensive, but they do have a gradual “hire” option, which if you keep it going for a certain period, will buy a single licence. Great software, but unfortunately not cheap…

@@tmmmusicstudio so than next time please mention this license in the tutorials, because than the Consumer would know it 🙈 but thanks for the reply, I will rent this lighting license, because that is a really cool possibility. Thanks for the reply and have a good day. Yours, Robin

I have a question, I want to know the name of the illuminator and the name of the dmx and MacBook and the connection device.

Hi, not sure what you mean by illuminator. The macbook in this vid was a 2014 macbook air 4Gb - old and slow - but it was fine, but currently running it on M1 Macbook Pro 16Gb. I can't read comments. Thank you for your answer. I got the information about the lighting. I think the machine I'm talking about is using Artnet. The Artnet you are telling me is out of stock and out of production. There are various products in Aliexpress too, so can I use those?
@tmmmusicstudio Жыл бұрын
@magicianbenson possibly yes. I have been looking at getting a spare and there are some on ebay. Not sure which country you are in, but here in the UK we have legislation around items being bought on the internet being “fit for purpose” so if it does not work you can return by law. Maybe check you have a returns policy for the item… You may have to change the computer network settings too - fairly sure that was in the video - but another unit may be different…

Yes - ArtNet is a protocol and you can get different brands. They will all work well.

Hi, great video thanks, How did you make the lights flash though? Surely you didn't do up and down fade cues for all of the chorus?
@tmmmusicstudio2 жыл бұрын
The lights all had a strobe setting, as many modern lights do now, this is usually a setting on one channel, and the higher the level, the faster the strobe. Hopefully that is the info you were after, if not, let me know
