Its a shame. Dmz was my favorite cod game mode ever. It had more potential than re-releasing the same game with different locations and weapons and of course this is the one that gets cancelled.
@Nezie224 ай бұрын
Because it was more expensive to maintain. They don’t have to invest as much time to reuse old maps etc to keep other modes going. They could have tried to refresh it and sell it as a stand alone game, but chose not to. I for one would have gladly paid a reasonable price for DMZ that was fully supported and maintained enough content to keep the balance between missions and PVP. Sadly the must believe not enough people would buy it to make them the money they must make to do it. For the DMZ fans that love(d) this game more than any other….soon we will be left with the memories we have. There will never be another DMZ the way we had in the first few seasons. It was magic. Until they pull the plug, I will keep playing and do my part to wipe the cheaters and glitchers as best I can with my teammates.

Set a morality value of sorts. Have neutral, good, bad of these values for your character then it would be no issue recognizing those that made more antagonistic choices or responses to situations. It would add more risk within the framework of the game. i.e. kill squads may become a class like a mercenary or in WW2 It'd be a cartel member. On the opposite side it's a peacekeeper. Having other classes in between. While still having the missions and other features. It had a chance to be an entire world based on the CoD franchise. Be a different dev team devoted to this And still have the other game. Grinding at those made warzone seems easy - no bots just other operators. Having bots hone in on you on a constant basis is a pain but helpful on other modes. Will miss this game

Maybe it wasn't a social experiment but sure the interactions that would happen on it were... I got my own The Walking Dead episode once. A teammate and I were surrounded by a (back then) 6 man squad in a police station. The leader requested us to sing a Katie Perry song or we die. We refused. After a minute or so of psycho warfare another team stops by and the aggressors convince them to join the hunt. They did. Now it's a 9 vs 2 situation. They proceeded to harass us in Tandem and call every name on the book. We got fed up and told them to shut up and attack. Of course we couldn't contain all of them and lost. It just felt odd, like witnessing the worst of human nature unravel in a hostile environment. Now, DMZ is all glitches, exploits, bugs and PvP with slim chances to finish missions. DMZ was great while it lasted.

A rather disgusting method that eliminates normal players from wanting to play this game.

I think the take away from DMZ is not a failure of the player base’s choices but more so the devs or management’s inability to balance the components of the game that made it uniquely different from War Zone while also being a profitable product. Perhaps selling skins in a freemium business model is not a viable long term profit model. It’s hard to know what the most significant choices kills a game like this. The player choices certainly play a factor but no doubt the management and execution was the biggest factor.

I swear, the vast majority of new players that wanted to get into DMZ just got ran off by the toxic people that wanted to wipe an entire server even when missions were still new. Now that's all you run into. People using glitches and/or trying to wipe the server. We turned DMZ into Warzone instead of letting it be its own thing, and letting people just have fun. There are some good people in it like yourself, but this might be the most toxic community I've ever been apart of. And heck, i've played games like destiny/2 and GTA for a decade.

I used to love playing DMZ as I was new to the COD franchise. It’s how I learned to play. I sucked at Warzone until I really got into BR and Resurgence on new game. I mean, I wasn’t great at first, it took a season to adjust to it as I only played BR a handle full of times on Warzone 2 and resurgence maybe only twice as many times. Now, experiencing the freedom of movement and the mechanics in the new game that I didn’t have while learning DMZ, it feels too restrictive when I have gone back to play DMZ. The game is just so much faster and movement is more fluid on the new game. Now that I’m accustomed to that, I can’t go back to DMZ. Now, I understand why so many people crapped on MW2. They lost some movement and mechanics that they felt should’ve stayed in the game. Honestly, if they ever make a new DMZ and take it out of BETA, it would be best to give it the BO6 mechanics (including omnidirectional movement). That’s just my opinion.
