How can you feel nothing when you see a child hurt? It could be a child I've never met walking in front of me that falls over and I feel something. On more than one occasion when I've been out with my children I've automatically picked up a child that has fallen only to realise this child is not mine and pass them to the mother. As a mother if i see any hurt child it brings out the mother in me it could be the school bully and I still feel the same a feeling to help and pertect.

That he felt justified in his lack of action as a father to an innocent child and acting like the child doesn’t sense his resentment and distance?
