I put the DNA on and the low end HP is enhanced. Better take of from the start, and better take off when switching to higher gears. Do this and get performance, unbaffled mufflers with straight pipes and the change in power is dramatic. TEC is a good source.

I still haven't taken the baffles out of my new slip ons (they're not on in this video), but I gotta try it soon. When it's a bit warmer. Thanks for watching sir.

Sounds so much better than before.

Thanks man. Crazy that such an easy thing to tweak also is actually so much better for the bike, too. There's no reason not to have it be an early upgrade.

"HIGH PERFORMANCE FILTERS" 🧐 I've seen a lot of videos about changing the air filter, they all say the performance will improve. But no one could measure or calculate, only words...How much percet performance was increased exactly?
@motomitch
@motomitch 4 ай бұрын
Percentage, I couldn't say.. unless you simply say If the stock engine can put out 47hp and this bumps it to 49 or 50.. Then idk, 5-6%. Watch any of my more recent videos and you may be able to notice it sounds better, breathing better. Not that I would notice it now when I get on the bike, but I do recall a bit more torquey feeling when I ripped the throttle. It's definitely worth doing if not for increased "performance", but just better running in general.

So expensive "feelings"
@motomitch
@motomitch 4 ай бұрын
@@josefuncovsky2274 It's definitely more than just feeling. If you feel a performance difference and hear a better sounding engine, would you say it's pointless feelings? I'm sure someone out there has run on a tuner to assess. but it's common knowledge that almost all motorcycles benefit from upgrading from the stock air filters (short of superbikes I'd guess?). As I said, it's been a long time since I've done this so I can't tell recall too much about the immediate differences noticed. I also don't think a $70-$100 part is expensive. It's the price of a new oil filter and the ~3L of oil you'd pour in, for improved engine function the entirety of the bike's existence.

One thing I’m concerned about is letting idle for so long on its side stand. I don’t think that right cylinder is getting the proper lubrication. Try listening to the noise difference when it’s on its side stand to when you’re sitting on it upright. Center stand is on order.

Ooh that's an interesting thought. Have you seen things about it becoming an issue? other than several minutes to warm it up it shouldn't be fully leaned and idling much (with the exception of this install). Wouldn't mind getting a center stand regardless though..

@@motomitch Yep, I have also heard others suggesting getting into the habit of warming it up with the bike centered for the reason mentioned. My Interceptor 650 comes standard with the center stand as well which is nice when working on it. I appreciate your content. I am not naturally mechanically inclined, but I enjoy doing the basics as well as tinkering with the aesthetics of the bike. Stay safe!

@@darrenhooley8472 Thank you man! Appreciate the appreciation :D but yeah, I sorta hope getting a bike gradually helps me become more mechanically savvy as it's much easier to see what you're doing and work on. I have a lot of things I want to do to this to make it uniquely mine. The Conti's have the framework to fit a center stand from RE, I'm not sure if I want to get that for the added weight or just get a good rear wheel stand for when its parked in the barn or being worked on... Ride safe!

Hey do you think that by using a free flow air filter cover we would let in more dust or water perhaps which may damage the engine ? Or is it safe ? If it is safe then how often would you suggest cleaning the air filter if using with the free flow cap
@motomitch
@motomitch 10 ай бұрын
I haven't seen anything about those concerns actually being a problem. I haven't cleaned the air filter since I installed it, perhaps I should look and see how it is. I ride fairly often and don't notice any differences from how I think the bike should be operating/breathing normally.

Why do you keep HIGH BEAM on?
@motomitch
@motomitch 5 ай бұрын
Sorta figure why not. Bright as possible so people can see. I don't always have it on, but this ride was at night and motorcycles in my state are supposed to keep the high beam on at all times when it's dark.
