How to make a full roast chicken and vegetables with the DNA Airfryer Oven.
Healthy Living Made Easy. You don't have to eat less, you just need to eat right.
Ingredients
• 1 x 1.2 kg chicken ( small to medium size chicken )
• 1 medium onion red or white
• 2 carrots
• 1 red pepper
• 6 baby potatoes
• 6 cloves of garlic
• olive oil
• 1 lemon
• 1 bunch of mixed fresh herbs, such as thyme, rosemary
Method
1. Remove the chicken from the fridge 30 minutes before you want to cook it, let it come up to room temperature.
2. Wash and roughly chop the vegetables - there’s no need to peel them. Make sure to quarter the baby potatoes. Leave the garlic cloves unpeeled.
3. Pile all the veg, garlic and herbs into the deep nonstock air fryer roasting tray and drizzle with oil. Place the tray at the lowest shelve option of the air fryer.
4. Drizzle the chicken with oil and season well with salt and pepper, then rub all over the chicken making sure its evenly coated.
5. Carefully prick the lemon all over, using the tip of a sharp knife (if you have a microwave, you could pop the lemon in these for 40 seconds at this point as this will really bring out the flavour). Put the lemon inside the chicken’s cavity, with the bunch of herbs.
6. Place the chicken on top of the perforated flat roasting tray and slide the tray in above the vegetables.
7. Turn the air fryer on and set the temperature to 200C and the timer to 50 minutes.
8. Baste the chicken halfway through the cooking process and if the vegetables look dry, give them a good shake to coat them with the tray juices evenly.
9. When the chicken is cooked, remove the tray from the air fryer. Transfer the chicken to a board and cover it with a tin foil layer and a tea towel and leave aside to rest.
10. Roast the vegetables for another 10 minutes at 220C to add a bit more colour while the chicken is resting.
11. Transfer the cooked chicken to a serving platter with the roasted vegetables.
