Yeah back in the 80s hella mistakes happened. The security measures of now came from the mistakes of the past. She was a pregnant teen mom that did not see her baby born. A baby was just handed to her and they told her it’s yours. She was probably traumatized by the whole experience. I feel so bad for the mom as well as the daughter. But people need to understand that baby were switched at birth during that time.

Adolescent mothers are twice as likely to have postpartum depression. If left untreated, it's common for the mother to dissociate herself entirely from the child. It doesn't look as if she had any support at home. The woman had been an alcoholic from the age of six, in and out of shelters and running the streets. She didn't know what it was to love or be loved. You can't pass on what you never experienced yourself. It's an unfortunate situation.

I think the daughter needs to cut ties with her mother. The mother is never going to believe that is her daughter. I know her children have a bond with her mother, but that woman could end up turning the kids against their mother. She has told multiple children that she hates them and wishes they were not born. She is not going to change and trying to force her to acknowledge didn't stop her from still believing that she is not the mother.
