As much as you don't want a guilty person getting away it has to be worse if an innocent gets convicted. Plus then you will never catch the perpetrator, so it's imperative that everything is done right. I'm somewhat surprised they didn't try to cover this up. Makes me wonder how many people might be innocent.

If 0.0001 ng of DNA is found at a crime scene I'd be very reluctant to trust that result anyway. Hopefully retesting 100,000 samples will be done with sensible standards in mind. Thanks for commenting!
