My family on dads side is also Brazilian Portuguese (I’m 40 % Portuguese) A lot of Portuguese relocated to the azores after the Lisbon Earthquake (and subsequent tsunami and inferno/fire) including my line! We get 50% of our DNA from each parent. That is why Jess shares 50% DNA with all her kids and her parents. Those minor less than a percent variations in total shared DNA are simply snippets of DNA that were not transmitted in the test medium. In Jess's case the spit they all tested with.

OK I am surprised the twins share so much DNA. I remember when you found out about them they were different gestation so I always thought they were just basically brothers that you carried at the same time. So interesting. I also think it's interesting the DNA vs physical appearance. Addie shares the least DNA with you? She's the only almost ginger and your twin but Kyson of all people who has a lot of his dads features.... so weird. As a health scientist, I have to say that with genetics being so complex, to be able to understand it on a significant level (nobody fully understands genetics, not even geneticists), you have to have an extremely strong interest in it & spend many years studying genetics. My interests are neurology & trauma. Although I've studied the basics of genetics, I've only just scratched the surface. Despite being a health scientist, with genetics being so complex, I would only just know enough to have a very basic understanding of what you've just read out. Even as a health scientist, genetics blows my mind.

It's not cancerous my daughter had to go through chemo to shrink a tumor when she was younger. I also have weird spots on my scalp that will randomly lose hair or my hair grow thin and I've noticed brown spots on my scalp.. I do have the biggest birthmark or AKA brown spot it covers pretty much my whole right side goes on to the left it pretty much covered my whole chest and back when I was a baby

I did AncestryDNA a few years ago. I was told I’m Italian and German, but it turns out I’m more Eastern European. According to my dad the Eastern European may be Slovenian. I have no close relatives that did the test, my closest relatives that I found was my dad’s cousin

My great grandpas grandfather was from what was then Swabian kingdom of what is now SW Germany. My dad has ZERO Germanic DNA. Not even a drop 😂 My mom is from Ukraine. Guess how much Eastern European DNA I have? Zero Yes Zero % My mom has 2%, the rest BULGARIA/ Baltic’s. We are also Jewish. Zero Ashkenazi Jewish dna. Zero. Gave me touch of an identity crisis but I’m ok now 😂 All I know is, someone in my ancestry may or may not have lied about being Jewish or was incorrectly identified as such
