DNR or CPR?

My mom just had to go into assisted living. They asked me almost right away when we got there if she was All code or DNR. I said all code because she’s only 68 but would have been nice for them to provide more explanation

I am sorry you had this experience, unfortunately it is all too common. These rushed discussions irk me. True, there is plenty of paperwork that needs to be completed and a limited time to do it, but there has to be a better way. Discussions about code status is a very important conversations and deserve time. Kudos to you for learning more about the different life sustaining treatments that are available to help you advocate for your loved one. You have given me an idea to talk about this.
