RIP Dikembe! 👼I will always love you for that amazing playoff win first 8 seed beating a #1! Will never forget Dikembe lying on his back clutching the ball just celebrating after time expired! Unforgettable Nuggets history! Will anybody who saw that ever forget it?

RIP Dikembe Mutombo. Even though I never got to see him play, from all the stories I've heard about him he was a great basketball player but even a greater man.

I think Minnesota’s in a lower tier now. They gotta figure out a system around that team and KAT wasn’t exactly a ‘get it all in the flow’ player. Their system is gonna require some adjustment adding Julius. They already suck in the half court. Now they have two guys that can create but both dribble their tits off to do so.

I'm TBD on lowering them. I think regular season they'll still win a ton of games and they are definitely more versatile against some of the smaller teams in the West. They're just absolutely positively less of a threat against Denver now, by a lot. Denver is also better equipped to guard them now - it's not even just about no KAT on Jokic, it's that AG can guard Randle, and CB is better guarding Ant than KCP was [that's not even debatable, we saw that in the playoffs last year definitively]. [although I do think the downgrade in shooting from KAT to Randle is a huge problem, and Conley and Rudy arent getting any younger respectively, which is also a problem]

Here is a quick note for how to pronounce names for people from the Slavic language family. (All comparisons are approximate and don't quite capture the intangibles in the pronounced in said languages.) "Dario Šarić." When you see a hat it creates an extra sound. Š would be a "sh" sound. The accent mark indicates where the stress falls. Luka Dončić-- the č also has a "ch" sound although I hear his name in my head like "Donchich" and am a little unsure if the C with a hat might be a little bit like the Russian "ts" as Tsar, but softened. I speak Russian which has similar sounds although they are indicated in the Cyrillic and not the Latin alphabet. Because I'm not fluent in Albanian or Serbio-Croatian, I would check with native speakers to verify the validity of my description, but it's a good rule of thumb. I'm unaware of the nuances in these languages and to what extent they differ from Russian, those sounds softened as Slavic languages moved southward and westward. Since we are Nuggets fans and that region produces a lot of players we talk about, I thought I'd give an approximate starting point. If there are any native speakers out there please correct any mistakes I had from my explanation.

I think what the wolves decided is the best strategy vs Jokic is to make him outscore you. If that’s the case they don’t mind having naz potentially get cooked with Rudy floating at the rim, if the rest of the nuggets don’t go off. Better to prepare for the rest of the league if your strategy vs the nuggets is make Jokic score all the points.

Tbh while it's a win for the Nuggets, I'd still prefer them beating the Wolves with the same lineup so that it wouldn't be an asterisk (yeah I know asterisks are bs) that the Nuggets beat the Wolves because no KAT narrative.

Re: MPJ bulking up to become Michael Stronger Jr., there's no way that he could play a 4. None. I don't see it. I think Malone is blowin smoke. Mike never was that quick off the dribble to begin with; he lacks the quick feet and lateral quickness. He's not a great defender. Doesn't anyone else see this? Why does it seem like they want to turn him into AG, which is just not possible. So how is Mike gonna guard the likes of old man LeDiddy with the Lakers? Even as an old man, LeDiddy would blow past Mike. Come on, folks. And you all doubted the power of Hunter Is Da Hunted Tyson. I saw fans wanting to trade him after this Summer League. Where are you fools at now? Even last year, I kept saying over and over I have no idea why Malone played the sub-effective Holiday over Hunter. It made no sense. So at least now Hunter might get some real minutes to see what he can do. If his defense improves, he'll be a real factor as a solid rotation guy off the bench.
@Sean.Cordes
@Sean.Cordes Ай бұрын
my dude this is just an entire load of nonsense. It's like you're still living in MPJ's rookie year. MPJ was a GOOD defender last year. Not great, but good enough especially for how elite of a shooter he is. He's fine on ball [and actually better guarding bigger guys than smaller guys - but even last year we saw him hang on switches against guys like Steph a few times, enough that teams actually stopped testing him on switches], he stays attentive off ball and doesnt get beat there anymore as much as a result, and he rebounds the shit out of the ball. The only thing he's actually bad at on defense is getting around screens, which is pretty normal for a guy his size.

@@Sean.Cordes k, sure bud. I'd love to see Mike try to guard guys like Bron and Panchero in Orlando. It wouldn't be pretty. Especially for Denver trying to get Ws. You MPJ stans are something else.

@@RS-ol8or he guarded LeBron on switches in the playoffs and did fine. It's like you dont even actually watch the games, build these narratives in your head. Regardless, MPJ isn't ever going to be the main option guarding guys like that, because AG exists so this whole conversation is pointless. Why am I even bothering with a clearly idiotic troll, smh
