Plus what some people consider cheating isnt what other people consider cheating. What if now he has separate set boundaries with his significant other (for example a non monogamous relationship). He mentioned that he makes new partners aware and that's prob one of the more important things about the process of change. Learning how you are and what's wrong with what you're doing and both work on those things but also work together with your next partner to ensure that your boundaries are set and that everyone is aware of the possibilities. Just bc you've done it multiple times doesnt mean you havent changed your lifestyle to adapt to the issues you have had with monogamy. Of course while also acknowledging that what you did was wrong and figure out other alternative to the decision you made.

hmmm no, if you choose to forgive someone, that means moving on, and not trusting them means you clearly haven't moved on and shouldn't have forgiven them in the first place. It's not really that cut and dry. On one hand you can't expect someone to be cheated on and then 100% trust that person again. But at the same time you can't expect anyone in a relationship to have to be interrogated whenever they want to be in a social situation and just be okay with it. Either you break it off or you trust that person has learned from their mistakes, and if they do it again then you know you should have just chose the first option and move forward from there. But in no way shape or form does cheating or becoming someone's prison Warden going to help the relationship.

I think the concept of still wanting to be in a relationship because there are still "benefits" but also wanting the benefits of not being in a relationship is really...selfish. Just because you feel entitled to new experiences doesn't make it okay to drag your partners feelings through the mud. If you want an open relationship you should make that clear from the jump, and if you thought you wanted to be monogamous but changed your mind, you should give your partner the respect of allowing them to choose if that's what they want or not...no need to be sneaky, just be honest.

We have no context to judge her for saying that. She also said her cheating didn't involve sex and she didn't enjoy any aspect of it but didn't know how to say no. She also said that the relationship was long distance and wouldn't have worked out even if she hadn't cheated.
