With girls, there are some guys crazy about getting their hands on a virgin, so they're praised for it (one chick even sold her virginity for a million; to me, going through all that to sleep with a chick who'll just be in pain the entire time is...wack). But with guys, majority of women do NOT want a virgin dude. There's already a lot you have to measure up to (penis has to be of a certain length and of a certain girth, and no matter what some say, you'll always be compared to other guys who came before) but if your stamina, endurance, and motions/stroke-game are all weak (which they will be if you're a virgin since it's literally your first time) you get ridiculed for it. Bonus points if you have no idea wtf you're supposed to be doing in foreplay. Not saying there aren't some understanding women out there who'll help you improve and "graduate", but the general consensus is that if he can't satisfy you, he isn't worth it. And don't even get me started with how other guys will make fun of you for it if they find out. Still a virgin myself btw (not that it matters). as an asexual i agree! personally i apply to both, i am and asexual who happened to be afraid of any form of intimacy even if its kissing, hugging, or even holding hands. i remember in 9th grade a boy in one of my classes asked me out and i wasnt too comfortable but wasnt able to say no due to the small social anxiety i had. he kept "teasing me" many times after i told him i wasnt comfortable and at one point he wanted to have sex with me (take note that i was 14 at the time) i barely knew the guy and kept telling him no. i started avoiding him at school and ignored his messages but he still pressure me into sending nudes and sadly i wasnt in the right mental state and complied. i repeatedly told him I didn't want to send the pictures or have sex (when he clearly knew the fact that im asexual) and luckily my parents are strict enough to not let me out whenever i want to. he eventually got bored of me and i was able to actually say no to him when he wanted my attention again but that totally fucked up my mental state, confience, and ability to commit. i have to admit that i was always drunk with the idea of love that i was so focused on the idea of someone and not the actual person. this was an eye opener that took months to process and im still not over it but now im completely afraid to be with anyone, especially men. luckily im queer so i dont have closed options with romance but they are limited knowing that a lot of people wouldnt want to date an asexual afraid of physical affection.

What the black girl said about having a fear of men because she grew up with a lot of young mothers who lost their way in life is sooo real. I didn't realize so many other women especially black women had the same experience. Growing up poor, a lot of my family and peers either got pregnant early or had their future destroyed by a dude and I'm just too ambitious to end up as a statistic so it made me pretty much fear men. I wonder if this is a real trauma in communities, I didn't question it until now whether other young women went through this.

I don't feel like this has a good representation of the "virgin-spectrum". Most of these people didn't have sex because they are waiting for marriage. I'm 25 and a virgin. I wouldn't mind having sex, but I feel like there hasn't been a good opportunity. I have commitment issues, so I need to have trust with someone before I do anything. Most boys I've encountered where like 'let's meet up and go straight to bed'. And I don't work like that... I may need to go for a coffee or sth before, so I can get to know the other person and gain trust (like a few of dates, not a full relationship nor anything like that). Furthermore, I went to a school with the same people from the 3 years old 'till 18, so I didn't get to meet a lot of boys. And in college, 95% of my class were girls. So... cue to today, with zero experience with boys.

kinda looked forward to this but was disappointed seeing most of these people are virgins by choice, specifically because they're saving themselves. Like the comments show, there's also many people who are virgins because sex scares them or maybe they're not even interested in it at all (asexuals). Personally I am because I just haven't had the chance to. I'd say I'm a rather sexual person and don't fear sex but I'm scared of social interaction and that makes getting to know people well enough for anything to happen rather difficult. I wish, especially cause virgins are often shamed for not having had sex yet, that these conversations didn't just center around people who are virgins by choice and proud of it, but include people who just haven't gotten to it and might feel insecure about it too. Women are definitely often shamed for sleeping around but from personal experience there's also judgement if you haven't at all. Maybe it's because I'm surrounded by friends in relationships, but I constantly get questions about if I've finally lost mine - and especially since I'm bothered by that fact I haven't myself, those questions frustrate me even more. These type of discussions lowkey make me feel more abnormal because they make it seem like all virgins are virgins cause they chose too. Honestly it's no stress, I'm only 19 and I know many people who've lost theirs much later, but well insecurities

The "save yourself for someone special" virgins are not indicative of all virgins. I'm a virgin because I don't put myself in situations where I will lose my virginity. At the age of 23, I've only been on dates with 3 different girls in my life, but I've never bothered to commit long enough to get anywhere near sex. I've never been bothered with dating, relationships and sex because I'm more concerned finishing my postgraduate degree. Being in a relationship seems more like a distraction than a benefit for me since I don't really need other people to keep me entertained.

Now that I am out of school and working, I still don't really have the desire to date. I would rather focus on making lasting friendships. And I know that you don't need to be in a relationship to have sex with someone, but I'm personally not interested in that type of dynamic.

I think it’s because I’ve seen so many toxic relationships in my family that ultimately fail. When I meet a guy and fall in love, I don’t want it to be like those relationships.
@yutassmilehealsme65723 жыл бұрын
Hey there, I’ll give a bit of advice. I think that if you find someone you like, it can’t hurt to try. You really don’t want to be regretting in the future wishing you had tried being in a relationship with somebody. It’s better to have experienced it rather than having 2am thoughts of “what if’s” 5 years later (take it from me). No one knows what the future entails. You could get hurt, but you could also not get hurt. Why focus on the negatives?

For everyone sex means different things. Personally I don't consider sex as something that should be held ✨for that one person✨ otherwise it's not special. Sex is just another way to connect with someone and it is different every time because the connection you have with that person is unique, you can't copy it and that's what makes it special! Just because I've had sex with Person A, doesn't mean sex with Person B was crap or that I loved this person less than the other. They can be equally satisfying and special and yet so different. Also I'm always getting weird feelings when someone says that they save it for that one person. Like how do you know if that person will be there for the rest of your life with you? People change, unexpected things happen - then what? You're not gonna ever wanna be in a relationship or have sex because you already did it with someone? I can't wrap my head around it. It's a beautiful concept, but I can't see how this would work in reality, because- life really can get shitty sometimes and you can't predict the future. I fully respect others may see it differently, all I'm saying is I can't see how this would work for me, because it simply doesn't make sense to me.

@Your average mall goth. Is that physically possible?? Surely the most basic innate instinct is to reproduce, thus sexual attraction is hard wired into our bodies like the need to breathe! It's biological evolution surely??
@Kineticboy2K13 жыл бұрын
@@stevenborg102 There's a reason asexuality is referred to as "a lack of sexual attraction or the inability to derive pleasure from sex" because naturally we are "supposed" to want it or enjoy it. It's still up for debate whether there is a biological reason for asexuality, if it's a sexual orientation (or lack of one) or if it's just conviction, but it's clear that more than ever there are a growing number of people that identify as asexual. You could compare it to the rise of lactose tolerance in humans over time. Initially we were all lactose intolerant where NO ONE could process dairy at all (this is still the case in most of the world that never got into dairy, usually more Eastern countries) until eventually after domesticating certain animals and finding their milk to be cultivatable, certain cultures evolved a tolerance for it. Likewise sexuality may have been a given for millennia but as we move to modernity less and less procreation is necessary and so it could be that asexuality came about from passing down the genes that didn't care as much for sex, ironically. The ultimate irony is that your line basically ends with you if you don't pass on your genes, so asexuality (if it is genetic) may just die off on it's own. At the same time it could just be a regressive trait we've always had and we're only now picking up on it. Scientists are still trying to figure it out. As a footnote it is important to remember that these days people are looking for more and more reasons to be "different" or "special" because there's now more people alive at once than ever before. We are no longer unique, like our ancestors who only had like 20 people in their village FOR GENERATIONS, and a good many of us just can't handle that.

virgins are not all saving themselves for marriage or have some traumas they need to overcome, sometimes you just literally don't have the chance to date someone or haven't met good ppl you're comfortable enough with, some ppl learn from bad experiences in sex but some ppl don't, also doesn't mean you're gonna have a better experience if you're virign and wait, and neither it means the more sex you have with ppl you're gonna get better at it.

Absolutely! I'm not a virgin but quite inexperienced. I've had two relationships in my life, and was single for 5 years between them. Didn't talk about my sexual experience because that's none of anyone's business, but people DID question a lot why I was single for those years. They'd act as if they expected me to have some meaningful reason, like "I just want to focus on myself/my education right now" or something. Nah, I definitely wanted a boyfriend for those 5 years, it was literally just a lack of opportunity. People act like we have more of a choice than we do! (Well I suppose you have a choice in the sense that you could completely drop all your standards and date or sleep with any random person who'll accept, but if you want to date someone with whom you're in love and also compatible, or if you want to not just hook up with strangers, things get more complicated)
