it would have been possible to avoid the crash by using worldpreview 2.3.3 instead of 3.0.0+, but the mod team had announced it had been banned and didn't announce that the ban was reverted, so i can't really blame drip for not using the old version

Gamma 5 should be allowed due to different monitors. There are some monitors that you cant see anything with in caves or dark parts of stronghold but you can see just fine with some other monitor. I actually had this issue in a different game where i couldnt see in an area at all but other people could. I had to stand up to see something in the area. Nowadays the game allows changing the brightness.

Completely this. I think it's possible that gamma 5 is just too much, though, since it totally changes what you can see through water. I'm not sure why the standard automatically became gamma 5 and not something like gamma 2. In my experience with a dim monitor, that was still good enough to see well in caves and the nether.

13:50 I believe that the main argument in favor of approving calculators is that in case of disapproval, people would cheat. For example: Your friend is sitting next to you and doing all the calculations for you

I can only imagine everyone in highlevel speedrunning has the same mindset as high level 1.8 mode specific players, same iwth people who prefer 1.7 over 1,8 for high level pvp, same with people in the high level bridging community and im even seeing the same mentality in high level 1.20+ players too... Its cool, The more you learn the better, all tech is good to know for an extra 0.1% of an edge.
