Maybe I’m wrong but I put the offensive woes of this team squarely at the feet of AA. This line is truly offensive. They whiff on blocks and miss assignments all day long. Where is Armella? Where is Simmons? AA may be a great recruiter but these guys aren’t being developed enough to play.

At some point this staff and this beat will need to understand that high school recruiting is still the most important thing. And Corey needs to understand that NIL hasn’t changed HS recruiting all that much. Top teams from before NIL are still the top teams now in terms of recruiting. Our staff can’t recruit and it’s looking more and more like they don’t coach very well either. I believe Dilly was more responsible for JT than Mike. CMN won’t get fired this year or next but he’s cooked.
@jamesb0255Ай бұрын
You're right. The same teams that were out recruiting everybody else before NIL are still on top. But to say that it has not had an effect on high school recruiting, with all due respect, is a little naive. Kids are getting paid incredibly large sums of money right out of high school. Some you might say deserve it, as Jeremiah Smith, but others are completely unproven and many don't even end up playing for the school that gave them their first contract. They can just transfer if they are not happy because they're not getting enough playing time. In spite of the investment that institution made towards them. It's ridiculous. Does Florida State need to improve? Sure it does, But to say that the staff is unaware of this is hyperbolic at best. We are all pissed off, befuddled, and generally super disappointed in this team and this staff. But it's not for a lack of trying. I think perhaps that TBE, of which I am a member and actually upped my contribution yesterday, may need to reevaluate how much we are willing to pay high school seniors that are unproven. Of course it will be up to the staff to make those evaluations. So some changes need to be made for sure. However, I'm quite confident that Mike knows this. We will see. I Believe Mike can turn this around hopefully this season but if not certainly next. As someone who helps pay his salary, however a small percentage that may be, I still emphatically feel he is the right coach for Florida State. He will be around much longer than you think.

We have NFL wide receivers on the field the problem is they have to be standing alone in the middle of the field jumping up and down waiving their arms for the ball to get thrown to them.

Imagine if Norvell was unable to convince all those guys to come back for the 2023 season. This would be year 2 of sucking and I think next year looks really bleak (we open with alabama in yet another week zero game)

I am 18 minutes into this show....and it sounds like a Mike Norvell apologist or excuse show. Clearly Mike Norvell is fully accountable for this collapse....whether it's because the players are just bad players (Norvell picked them), whether it's because the players don't match the scheme (Norvell picked the scheme), whether it is the team isn't prepared for their weeklyopponentt (Norvell preps them)......you say you know he is a good coach, but he is failing at all the things that make you a good coach (player personnel, staff personnel, game prep, and in-game decision making)

Miami is recruiting very well nationwide, case in point: Justin Scott(5*) and Marquise Lightfoot (5*) from Illinois, Samson Okunelo (5*) from Massachusetts then there are several blue chip kids signed through out the country (Riley WIlliams, SJ Alofaituli, Jaboree Antoinr, Brock Schult, Luka Gilbert).

I believe Mike Norvell can run a good football program, but I am still not sold that he can COACH.......maybe pay him to be the AD/President of football operations.....and hire a COACH.......at the Power4/5 level, head coach is a CEO, you can't do both......the best coaches DONT do both
@tonygreco4938Ай бұрын
I agree with most of this. It took Saban a few years to back off the micro manger thing at Bama. He was the DB/DC/HC but learned to just look at the big picture. The philosophies were Saban's but his coaches made the train run. Kirby learned it quickly at UGA and look at them. Even Bowden learned it. You be the face let the coaches to the little stuff. Mike is 43 hopefully this year is his lesson and he learns to just be the CEO
