they don't. that's why I would start my degree on computer science, the market change is not possible to break in a couple of months like in the past it would take people around 2 years and I prefer to get a degree than studying for 2 years by myself it just overwhelming, they are asking for so many things to get a cloud job. just get a computer science degree is the only way with how hard is the market.

I think getting a degree seems like the obvious choice but I just want to give a note of caution about that. A lot of the time degrees lag a couple of years behind industry, which means that just because you get a degree does not mean you learn the skills to get a job in the cloud industry. Most employers I know don't care about what degree you have as long as you can demonstrate that you have experience with the relevant technology. I'm telling you this because when I was considering getting into the tech industry I actually applied for and got a place at a good university for a computer science degree, but then I realised it would take me two years to complete the degree plus the price tag was really expensive. Which is when I decided to learn using online resources and courses and was able to get a job a couple of months later saving myself a lot of time and money. This was just my experience but I genuinely don't think you need to take 2 years and spend $10k+ just to get a cloud job because the reality is that you could do that and still have the same issues because the degree didn't actually give you the skills you need Hope that helps :)

Thanks for posting a video with such valuable content! It came at just the right time for me. I'm in my first year of working as a data analyst type role. Basically a lot of data wrangling/analysis with Python and my coding has gotten pretty good. In the future, cloud is definitely something I'm interested in moving toward as my career progresses. At my job I get along very well with the data engineering team, and that is a role that I think could target for my next job. Do you think Data Engineering could eventually lead to a cloud role? Or would I have better luck going through a more traditional IT pathway, such as something like Help Desk? Thanks in advance!

I think your data engineering background will be enough to help you get into the cloud industry especially with your Python background What id recommend you do is to take up some cloud projects to build your general infrastructure skills :) Keep me up to date on your progress :)

Is the program geared toward people learning azure or aws I've been learning azure?
@CloudCareerMentor
@CloudCareerMentor Жыл бұрын
All the training is done with AWS but I think the concepts can still be applied to Azure or GCP. For example they all have autoscaling, they all have Linux virtual machines, they all have CICD tools. But ultimately the cloud platform we use in the program is AWS and so if you are going to join then hopefully you want to become comfortable using AWS cloud as well We recently had a student who went through the program as was able to get a job job with a company that uses Azure, which goes to show that Cloud concepts are similar across cloud providers and so once you learn how to do things in one cloud, it is pretty easy to replicate them in other clouds. I hope that helps :)
