Do equipment stands sound better?? Compare Quadraspire stands, why spend £3300 instead of £500?

Very high end hi fi racks look much better and are sturdy, but the do nothing to the sound quality. I have a very expensive custom made rack, and to be honest, it sounded no different from my previous MDF veneered stand which I made myself after having the sheet cut at the shop. Sure, those high end ones are nice to look at but they don’t do anything. Try it. Put all your kit on the carpet, then on the stand. Do you hear any difference? Be honest to yourself. But sure, if you have the funds….why not spend on a 10 k stand. I did, and it just looks really good.

Had me doing a double take - I was mostly listening and heard you saying each shelf was 300 pounds. Here in the states we weigh things in pounds - lbs. A lb is about half a kilogram. I thought that thing cant weigh that much!

Really interesting video as I am in the market for a storage solution for my HiFi equipment. Problem I have is that I need something to house 9 pieces of equipment so dare not consider the cost in anything too high end!?👍🏼🍻

Do you get better sound because it’s used with a turntable? I understand vibration and turntables don’t go well together. Might it make a difference when used with just amplification and say a streamer?

I do think it's a bigger difference on turntables however all components can suffer from microphony and vibrations affecting the sound. Then it becomes complicated, shouldn't a designer of expensive kit take this into account? You would say of course but some manufacturers insist on special furniture to get the best from their gear. Worth remembering

Hi Greg, yes the bass is definitely tighter and you can follow the bass lines better. The overall sound is also more dynamic Thnaks Michael
