Did I just get featured on America and KZbin's preeminent fencing authority's channel? Thanks for all the knowledge!

The fact your video is titled "they hate me for showing you this," with a channel about hacks, then this "oh the hacks guy stole my method," retort. It's good to know contractors are fkin sissys all over, not just around where I'm at 😂

@@Grt_like Relax. You're clearly clueless about sarcasm! Mark, Dan's brother, did a video at Haxman's house a few years ago showing him how to build fences with a post driver the SWI way. They are all friends and nobody is mad or doing any name calling other than you.

Love y’all actually not dumping on a guy who tried his best to follow after the pros. A lot of us “normal” people can’t afford having pros like you come out but you guys sharing and showing and making resources/tools available is making all our lives better.

Well done! HaxMan is where I first ran into you guys, when douch... er... your brother appeared on there and they built a fence together. And poles are usually longer when measured from the top. It's physics.
@notsure6182Ай бұрын
you glossed over the best advice. 'take all measurements at the bottom'. that will create the conditions for plumb posts every time. I build sports fields and the fencers build back stops that way, the rails are shop cut after the bottom post spacing is measured in the field. they show up on site with every rail cut and sorted by location

This idea works for individual posts, but I don't know about what you do: A stick of wood. Screw a Level on the side, and the back. Cut out a sliver of the wood so it slides over the side of your post. Galvanized/circular post: Make sure your piece of wood is in an accurate enough size so that when placing your post between the two levels, they fit tight enough that both levels are accurate. Secondarily, but more risky, you can hold it on the post as it drives. However, your cut will eventually hollow out and be inaccurate, and you'll need to make a new wood-level.

have you guys made a video on how to set up a stringline for top rail when installing on uneven ground? im struggling with grading properly so that the top rail does a gradual raise or dip as opposed to it looking all jagged

8:00 rofl. Always take your measurements from bottom. Or was it top down. Love it! ❤️ 3:40😅 A+++++++++

Both. I wasn't super clear there. Measuring on the post measure from the top down. Measuring *between* posts measure at the bottom.

@scottmichaels12Ай бұрын
They've got them on their SWI website. They're ridiculously overpriced at around $75 per post. Home Depot sells a $50 version but you have to order them online.
@SWiFenceАй бұрын
You can save a bundle if you source them locally. If you get them from us we're paying to ship them in and ship them out again--steel isn't cheap to ship.

Disagree wirh following "lumps & bumps" of terrain! Ugly, ugky fence if customer has not GRADED first. Too bad YOU don't offer that as part of installation.

What you actually do is "roll" the fence. You follow the contour of the ground, but you smooth it out so the fence flows with the land. We didn't really get in to that here.
