Havent seen the whole series maybe he mentions it elsewhere but in John’s gospel water is a symbol for purification and life, that Jesus himself gives and is. The significance here is Jesus purifies us originally from sin, so that we can have a “share” in him verse 8 and then later in our daily walk. The focus of chapters 13-17 is how we are to live with each other after his ascension. It is true his servanthood is our example but the passage needs to be seen in the context of the book. Maybe he brings the rest of this out in other lessons.

Jesus did not save Judas but said he was a devil and was going to his place meaning hell. Treating an unbeliever with loving kindness is a form of judgement. It highlights their lost state when they are ungrateful.

Actually The Bible clearly indicates that Judas was not saved. Jesus Himself said of Judas, “The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born” (Matthew 26:24). Here is a clear picture of the sovereignty of God and the will of man working together. God had, from ages past, determined that Christ would be betrayed by Judas, die on the cross for our sins, and be resurrected. This is what Jesus meant when He said He would “go just as it is written about him.” Nothing would stop the plan of God to provide salvation for mankind.

The Bible is allegory not secular history like classic theology thinks it is, nothing new under the sun and repeated.
