Women say that they want men to be more expressive and vulnerable. Try it in IRL and watch them run for the hills. "Pay less attention to what people say and more to what they actually do".

Nope in this context a better quote is; what’s a women say and what she actually means are different things

If she is able to express it this way, then she knows the concept/notion of it. 2 types of women, only the ones who find men emotions a turn-off are unable to understand such logic to even talk about it?

Hey man just wanna share an incident that happened last year and this is all personal experience so no offence to whoever out there. If you ask me personally I think to show vulnerability, weakness and tears are no.1 turn off in relationship for men. I went through one of the worst time ( blood cancer) in my life and I let my feelings run wild and vent, cried etc but I didn’t get me nowhere, I noticed her detaching slowly and left me hanging with no clarity in my worst shape ever and since I hate myself to showing too much emotion and being vulnerable; at last here I m left with huge mental trauma which who knows when I will overcome. Seriously guys be f***ing stoic, follow goals and Make something out of your life that your forefathers would be proud

Men need stoicism to be in control of their emotions and how to react when things don't go their way and the discipline to do the hard things even when they don't feel like it. If its toxic its not masculinty. Masculinity is here to serve society, never to make it worse. Telling men that its ok to be weak and act out on their emotions is dangerous as men who are not emotionally capable of self control can do more harm on others than good. Men should be physically strong and capable of danger but have the moral compass not to use it unnecessarily and only to protect. Reject Modernity, Embrace Masculinity.

I think a more accurate interpretation of what society requires of men today is showing greater empathy to the people around them. While I align with you that on the self control part, I disagree that men need to be physically strong. We just need to look out for our own health, and that reinforces a more holistic concept of health by having checks on one's diet, having greater discipline and mindfulness in what one does daily etc.

@@julioforessi1336 being strong not necessarily for work or manual labour etc. Look at the obesity rates in the USA/ western world, that’s a result of laziness. It’s for health, confidence and longevity of life. If kids these days are taught the mindset you described, that we now have these machines we can rely on them and we don’t need to be strong they gonna grow up fat and lazy which is very unhealthy. I think the push for physical strength and masculinity is valid and more so needed due to how comfortable and easy the world is getting. Comfort is a drug
@perspicacitymotivation
@perspicacitymotivation Жыл бұрын
@@lecherhao86 due to the changes of the world, it being more easy and automated, yeah men don’t need to be “physically strong” for their careers but I think it’s still something we should strive for and still teach our kids that a strong body is a strong mind. I think it’s even more important now than ever that we should be physically strong if not the sedentary nature of our jobs/school work will get the better of us and spiral us down into laziness, poor eating habits, porn/masturbation, video games and Netflix for hours and all these comfortable but purely hedonistic activities. I was once like that too but I changed my life around and I will testify I never felt this happy, confident and fulfilled ever since I started going to the gym, lifting heavier and heavier weights every week and also attending boxing classes. I’ve become more diciplined and stoic than ever after getting physically strong so I would say I disagree with your point that men don’t need to be strong. I used to be depressed but getting strong helped me tremendously to get out of that rut and I’m sure it will help many other young men out there. Comfort is a drug. We need to do the hard work especially when we don’t feel like it. Cheers

Masculinity goes beyond the physicality. The term includes behaviors and attitudes. Both men and ladies will have masculine traits. Men have it easier to show our masculinity because of societal expectations. But toxic masculinity is simply when that display of masculinity hurts someone and to a greater extent having showing lesser empathy and respect to the people around you. To give an example, it is a norm for men to be able to protect one's family and loved ones by standing up for them. It is a display of their masculinity. But this crosses the line into toxic masculinity when the person does not believe that the family and loved ones also have their strength to stand up for themselves as well. He negates their contribution, thoughts, feedback and feelings. The people around that man feel less valued than they desire. I'm 36 and married. And I know my wife since 22. My advice to youngsters is to embrace yourself more, love yourself more, treat yourself and others better. That way, you own your masculinity than it owning you.
