It’s true that makeup not just to make yourself look and feel good, but also how you want to be perceived to others. But the fun thing about being girls, since beauty standards keep on changing generation by generation, is that we can mix and match. Some days this outfit that I’m wearing is cozy so I don’t want to wear makeup, while this certain outfit looks good with this color palette. At the end of days, it’s all about you being you and how you feel comfortable in your skin, with or without makeup. People will keep on judging anyway, some may like it some may hate it.

I think there’s mainly 3 reasons why girls wear makeup and it varies from person to person. Firstly would be that they view makeup as an art and an outlet to express themselves . Secondly to look good for others such as going to interviews etc. Lastly would be to feel confident. Personally my reasoning would fall under the “to look confident” as i am insecure of my dark eye circles and feel more bold to walk around and talk to others when it is concealed and i wear it even though i work in an all women environment . So I really don’t think its fair to generalise and say that ALL women are lying and “want to look good for men only”.

humans like pretty things, and thus likes to be perceived as pretty too. the relationship between the self and others in our actions are intertwined, because it is a relational thing. pretty, in relation to what? it's not really significant when you are pretty in relation to yourself, it's more significant if you are pretty in relation to others (being perceived as pretty to others) hence they feel pretty if they are wearing make up outside (validation) most people think "doing it for others" as something vane and make them sound like they are attention seekers I believe it is more accurate to say that everyone seek validation from society, and not in a bad way (like attention seeking)

Women wear makeup to be seen only by the alpha guy in the room. When women say they do superficial things for their own confidence this is actually what they subconsciously meant. Women prefer cloud chasing because they don't have their own self identity (thats why they latch onto something to feel good inside), so if men like superficial things he's essentially acting like a woman A real man values goodwill, integrity and soft values over the long term.

When we live according to external standards that always change, our souls will be forever restless, it's important to strive for inner qualities through hardships instead of looking for shortcuts (ie women pay for slimming programme instead of going to gym, men pay for prostitutes instead of enjoying themselves through process of engaging with females) Having a facade (makeup) can be lying to yourself as a female, it should be a form of social respect however when the makeup is down, can you even look at your deficiency on that mirror?
