When I was a correctional officer in California we had no video coverage in the units or gyms including the yards.

Great video brother. I have my panel interview, for corrections in california, next month. Any advice or tips to do well?!

Can you give any advice for someone like myself who is 36 and just switching from a career in healthcare to corrections being a female working in a men’s facility? I’m not very big, 5’5” about 135lbs. I lift several times a week, but obviously I don’t compare to the size of a man. I have worked with violent psych patients for majority of my career, so I understand how that can be. However, I know that there are going to be challenges because I’m a female and because of my size.

its women smaller than you who are correctional officers. more about communication & de-escalation skills in corrections & only using physical force as a last resort

I feel being a retired Correctional Officer of the state of California, that all prisons may have a lot of similarities in how they run day to day but may differ in officer moral or inmate incident activity.
