The Greek philosopher Archimedes said “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.” That's the same principle for the guitar feeling way lighter. The headstock is at the end of the lever and applies a lot of torque respect to the fulcrum (the neck joint). Simply as that
@GuitarCinemaOfficial11 ай бұрын
Interesting. I wonder if that effect is further multiplied by a reverse headstock. Most of my guitars are reverse and there has to be some effect of lengthening the bass strings over the treble strings.
@MetalMike8711 ай бұрын
@@GuitarCinemaOfficial on an engineering standpoint it would be interesting to check the difference ... also between different headstock shapes. For sure, multiscale/extended range would have more problems due to the length of the lever. While 7/8/9 strings guitars would have more problems due to additional weight of the tuners (in addition to the point above) At the end of the day, the whole balance of the guitars depends on both the position of the fulcrum (which may differ from playing while sitting vs standing), the shape of neck/body and the weight of the parts. I think the main problem is related to the randomness of wood density which is not predictable. Same woods can have a wide range of density which results in same guitar shapes having completely different outcome ( SG is a case study on this 😂)

The first videoI saw of yours was the 8 string legator, and it feels like its every time you've had a legator its been even more crazy than the last, and I fucking love it. it made me pull the trigger on my headless G6OF and I'd never let it go, my only gripe is the satin body but that's noting a poly lacquer can't fix. Fully agree on the headless effect though, its just a vibe that you get with the instrument. The snap, the ergo, the clarity and tuning stability is unreal! Great video as always!

Master's Apprentice is definitely my stairway to heaven whenever I test a guitar 😄 great review, mate. The headless thing has interested me for a long time as a hobby player who plays mostly sitting down at home. Ergonomics seem way more important the older i get. This is one of the better looking headless models I've seen. Sounds great!

It's such a beautiful guitar. I've been a big fan of headless guitars since I got my cheap little Harley Benton Dullahan, they're just so much better when it comes to ergonomics and balance. I'd love to get a 7 or even 8 string headless guitar because I just know that they'd be so much easier to handle than a regular guitar of that size. Really loved the review as always, glad to see you're so happy with it, and I'll definitely be checking in for that hypothetical review of a headless guitar you may or may not have bought.

I own a Legator N7FX which is pretty much the same guitar but with the a headstock and its in the black widow finish... and it's amazing. I own a B.C. RICH Shredzilla Prophecy Archtop which has fanned frets and a killswitch as well just not an L.E.D. my other 7 string is a 1200$+ Solar S series. All are amazing!! Necks are totally all different!! I own two LTDS a EC1000 and BLACK METAL ARROW. And a Signature Joe Duplantier Charvel. All guitars are mint but my 7s are just.... OMFG. I'm literally looking to get a new guitar... I wanna continue to get a different brand and shape every time so I'm looking at a Kiesel, Ormsby, or Ibanez but I'm itching for another Solar if that means anything.

Yo! That's a kick ass axe mate. I am glad you remembered the hack to change strings!! It's not at all more problematic than an orthodox guitar. I can only agree with you on Korean made guitars and on the value/quality you get with a legator...its just bloody good! I have a ghost 7, tuned in drop A and its just what you described. Mine has Legator pups and its ready to mod for active pups..but you know what? I haven't done it, even though I thought would...cos they sound great man! One thing I have to criticise about the guitar, and it would be interesting to hear your view. I play, mostly, classical style, I saw you did too.. albeit not always... don't you find the tunners digging into your leg?? They do into mine! A simple accessory to cover them would do and I might get it 3D printed. That is my only criticism of that guitar; I own many and 3 more headless from other brands but...the ghost 7 beats them all! And you are taking rubbish mate it doesn't look too small on you. It looks just fine man, just fine....and great play too. Nice one! Take care 😀🤘

The door broke off on my 9v compartment in the first couple months of owning my Ninja. I contacted Legator to order a replacement, they said they were out of stock and they never responded after that. I recently found what battery compartment they use and ordered it. Perfect match replacement. They use the Kaish brand 9v compartments sold on Amazon for $9. No wonder the plastic door hinge broke. They use the cheapest option available.

Is this guitar good quality compare with strandberg ?
@JD-vj4go11 ай бұрын
I started playing headless because I'm an old man now and the light weight and balance really help. My strandberg weighs just over 4 lbs. String changes are a pain. I'd rather setup a Floyd :)

The string changes on my mayones hydra are very easy. I think headless string changes arent bad at all. As easy as any normal guitars with locking tuners.

At almost 16:00 minutes you talk about "coil split" but the push pull is for voice 2, which is a "passive sound" or did you modify the wiring in order to have an actual coil split?
@GuitarCinemaOfficial11 ай бұрын
All Legators I've owned with Fishmans come with the push pull pot wired so the "Out" position on the Neck pickup actually engages the Coil Split and not Voice 2 like it does with the Bridge pickup. This one was the same.

Just please, stop spreading myth about tonewood. It is an electrical instrument, not an acoustic one. Wood used in construction here has an influence only on price, looks and weight. As well as neck connection type - 0 meaning for the tone.
@GuitarCinemaOfficial11 ай бұрын
Completely disagree and I can show you waveforms of DI'd instruments to demonstrate that difference. HOWEVER, the real question is how much of that difference is perceptible to the listener? Especially once you add gain and multitrack production to further muddy the waters.
@LandsOfDespair11 ай бұрын
@@GuitarCinemaOfficial Difference is 0 in any case: solo or in mix with all added stuff :)
@@LandsOfDespairAnd what are all those electronics doing? Picking up the vibrations of the guitar and translating them into an analogue signal. You're telling me all guitars vibrate to the exact same resonance and frequency? I maintain that whilst the end point is always the same the starting point has massive variation. If construction and woods really made zero difference we'd all be playing the exact same slabs of mahogany with a set neck. I will concede though that beyond the player with the guitar in his hands and the people in the room with him. The differences become much harder to discern from that starting point.
