hey Lee, Anthony, & Sam thanks for answering my question sorry for the vague-ness, I was under contract at the time and wasn't sure what all I could disclose but a little more backstory for clarification. I was hired to design a logo for a small local hunting company that the client had recently bought, I was originally hired to just update/modernize the existing logo. Having a hunting/outdoor background I was the perfect designer for the job, and the client really appreciated all my feedback and input, and started asking my opinion and advice on decisions for the company...Then they started asking bigger questions and plans for the business and that's when the project creep started moving in. So I did what Lee suggested and ended the first contract and started another. But by then I was being more of a business advisor than design work. So basically, now they wanted to do a complete rebrand of the company and had me working on a new logo (fine by me lol). While I was working on the new designs, they had spent ALOT of money on marketing and brand consultants and other poor financial decisions spurred by family influences, and because we had a good working relationship, they client was telling me all the details. But hunters can be finicky customers, and a major rebranding can rub some the wrong way, so they kind of lost some customers in the process and I was worried about getting the final payment at the end if there would be a company left by then. I was very upfront with them the entire time and told them that I don't have business expertise but gave them my opinion if they asked. (Note: all of my suggestions were opposite of the choices they ended up making) So I guess my question should have been: Once they started talking too much business with me, Should I have just ended the contract or told them "I'm just here to draw logos" ? IE: what should our role be as a contractor?

For those who make it to the story section , 1993 Helen C White library will forever be burned in my brain. (I accidentally said Bird library out of habit from my Syracuse student child). And let it be known I was there merely to write a “what’s up” kind of email to a friend . So that makes the story even more brutal 😬.

This episode is confirming my suspicion that it’s a big group project and Jake is the one doing the work, Lee just has the presentation skills to fool the teacher that he did something
