Do I need to consider starting a new channel because I can't comment on other channels? Help!

I'm in a similarly complicated situation with tiktok. Nobody knows what i'm talking about; the customer service is non-helpful; they just keep going back to their script. So annoying and frustrating, i might need to quit or move. All the work i've done... the people i've met, the followers, the community... smh. Good luck to you, whatever direction you take it.

I had a similar issue. Except my comments were not visible in live chats. This went on for days only, thank goodness. Like you I found KZbin less than helpful. Fortunately after one of the people I am a member of made me a moderator and this fixed my invisibility issue - for her channel live chat only. Often my comments would start out visible in a live and then become invisible.... Strangely though this was only the case when trying to comment from my desktop. All my comments were visible when I commented via my iPad. Not sure if you tried changing mode of commenting, but something to think about. Hope it sorts itself out.

That really stinks :( I do like the idea of maybe updating your channel name and putting a number at the end I saw someone suggest that and it can't hurt, and might help. Also I heard another KZbinr saying they had shut down their Channel and then wanted to turn it back on and they lost all their videos because they shut it down. Just wanted to mention that so you don't loose any. Hope something works friend❤

You could keep both channels so that you have your brand name, and just comment on other videos as Things Diane Makes (and put My Pink Bathtub in brackets!) Such a weird problem. Another KZbinr I follow was not able to link anything in the description box of her videos, for like two years. And then one day it started working again. She now has two channels, one for her crafty things, and one for vlogs. Hope you find a happy medium. I've subscribed to your other channel.

Yes, Mel told me. But if this a known issue will others why doesn't YT look into this further? I have made some changes, including altering my channel name, will test and hope for the best!

I am behind catching up on videos, but this could be caused by several things. 1. You are using a word that the channel or YT is seeking as spam. I know on my channel I can not always get to comments right away, so I have selected several often-used words as flags. Comments with those words go to my hidden comments that I can go in and review later before they are seen on the video. 2. The channel or a mod accidentally blocked you in a live and therefore no one can see your comments on their channel. 3. YT has limited your comments for various reasons. If you comment the same thing on several channels or have bad wifi and when you go to comment it does it more than once- YT sees that as spam... 4. They are going to the hidden folder for an unknown reason, or when you comment it is just not going through due to wifi issues/app issues (this has happened to me- I had to delete my app and reinstall it for it to update) I can't remember if I have seen a comment from you lately, if you haven't been to my channel that is ok too.

​@@MyPinkBathtub-Diane If you accidentally tap the three dots, it is easy to hide someone from the channel, in the comments on the app. It's not easy to find all the hidden people, and you have to follow a step-by-step process in the channel settings to undo this and I think it can only be done on PC. So that could have happened too.

Without seeing what you see on your screen, I can only guess what your problem is. I know that comments I've made can seem to disappear until I go select under the "Sort by" menu above the comments. I would also suggest changing/ updating browsers, clearing cookies, etc. There's also a way to clear your Watch History on youtube. The word "bathtub" in your name could also be a problem. If you have any sort of extension on your browser that would interact with youtube, that could also cause a problem. Also, I don't personally use a cellphone, but an app on a phone or other device could have problems that using a desktop computer does not have.

May not be this, but I realized a while ago whenever I commented with a link it just disappeared. And anything that even looks like a link may have the same thing happen. So I limit my comments to text only now and have not had a problem since. This may not be your issue, but just wanted to mention it just in case.

Hello Diane, my two cents because I am not a content creator…I believe it is the title of your channel which has caused the problem. Maybe KZbin considers “pink bathtub” to be of suspect content and has somehow blocked anything you may say on other channels. I subscribed to your other channel just to be there in case you have to move.😢

Have you considered the name itself “ my pink bathtub” would be flagged simply of the word bathtub. Instead of shutting down your channel and attempting to rebrand, just simply change your KZbin handle, I had to do this when my original channel name was deemed inappropriate for some viewers

I would hate for you to shut this original channel down. I am glad that you are not doing it right away. For “kicks and grins” you can comment from both channels on some of the videos of creators that you know and see if this issue persists. YT has some “broken parts” and you may have fallen into one of them. They may not give you an answer because they honestly can’t figure it out themselves.🤷‍♀️
